I love hard and heavy music, it's my number one thing in life. But I also love lots of other stuff. Probably equal with the Police, the Enz would be my all time favourite pop band. They just had SO MANY great songs...6 months, Message to my Girl (my all time favourite ballad), I Got You, Dirty Creature, Poor Boy, I Hope I never, History etc etc etc etc. I was spewin I couldn't catch them when they toured.
What do you think?

Outstanding pop sensibilites, this group. The brothers Finn are amongst the best songwriters and pop musicians from the Southern Hemisphere if not the best

Fantastic ground breaking band.

Hadn't really listened to them in yonks,
but when they toured a couple of months ago,
my sister was managing them ,
so i got to do the Waynes World pass around the neck thing.

The soundcheck at Adelaide was surreal, SE, a couple of roadies and me.
They still can't remember some bits of songs,
so they sort of G A B'd their way through the set, and throwing bits in, with me sitting there gobsmacked trying to pretend i was really important.

Neil Finn is a goddam musical god.

Remember seeing them do "Maybe" on Countdown (yeah I know I'm old) and loved it instantly and the follow up "Late last Nite". I really loved their early stuff (esp: Dizrythmia and Frenzy) but they lost me a little after that, but no question a great band.

If you are into Split Enz you may not have heard their first album Mental Notes. Except for the title track, this album is outstanding. Enz at their 'Frenzied' best.

Excellent band, one of my absolute favourites. So many good songs :thumbsu:

Ok band with a great attitude. Were laughed at on their first trip to the US.But I always admired their "artist knows better" approach to executives. When they first came over, they would have been in competition with Dragon as the better NZ import, but if I was to talk honestly, they bever really grabbed me.

Mark: Dragon were a pretty cool band in their day. 'Rain' and 'Dreams of Ordinary Men' and some of their other tunes were great songs.
And Saints Supporter: Not just PART of that great timeline, more like START of that timeline......

Legend has it that in the London in the mid to late 70's all the bands of the time would hang around a particular street (can't remember which) and everyone would stare at the Sex Pistols who would sit around acting too cool for school. But apparently the Sex Pistols use to stare at Noel Crombie. They couldn't get over his hair style.
