Welcome the good people of Hawthorn.

And those unfortunate enough not to follow the mighty Hawks.

If you like, this thread is your Big Footy Hawthorn hotel directory – it has everything you need to know and how to make your stay more interesting, fun and comfortable.

You’ll find handy threads and references here, which we’ll update regularly. We’ll be posting links to individual threads and posts of interest and merit. You’ll also find perpetual threads here too – which will cut down on stickied threads and the like.

If you have suggestions/thoughts or any feedback, or there’s a thread or post that you think has particular merit, contact us. Indeed, if anything is unclear, if you’re unsure of something or you want help in getting something off the ground, contact us. Or if you’re new to this board and feel a little daunted, feel free to contact us too.

As this thread will constantly be changing and will contain important information etc, so check back often. But whatever you do, please read the 'code of conduct' section. That's the flight plan we'll be steering by this season.

Code of Conduct

Please make sure you read and understand the information contained in this post. In totality, it amounts to the law of the land.

1 Make sure you understand and abide by the Big Footy global rules and terms of service. Much like licking a car battery, ignorance will not be accepted as a defence for stupidity.

2 Make sure you're familiar with the Hawthorn Board Rules. We’ve made them as simple and direct as possible and, much like the Global Big Footy rules, make sure you understand them. Opposition posters, there's even a special section devoted to what we expect from you, and what we don't.

3 Current interpretation of selected board rules. Please be aware that we will be paying attention to the following areas:

• Repetition of Threads
• Continued Torching of Hawthorn Players
• Trolling
• Slander/Defamation

4 Modding. You got an issue with modding or how the board is modded, take it up with the board mods or admin privately. We don't want to read any comments on the boards about moderation.

5 If you want to quote articles, do so, but please don't do so in their entirety. Links to article or tweets are preferred. Those media lawyers are a ruthless bunch.

6. Abusive, patronising and belittling comments. Don't do it, because we will be touch. Go here for the full story.

7.Live streams, paywalled articles or anything else to get around copyright. Yep, don't want requests or posting of such material.

Shhhhh

We're sworn to secrecy on their exact identities, but Shhhhh often has some pretty good information. Yep, what comes out of Shhhh's mouth is inside info from a variety of trusted sources. Shhhh dosn't post often, and they don't answer questions, but it's worth keeping an eye out for Shhhh's posts.

Hell, we're that impressed we gave Shhhh their own thread.

The board rules have not changed in all these years, but the thread lay dormant for some time and it was time to sticky these back up.

During this time a lot has changed, but it also hasn't.

The biggest change of course is the loss of Grizzlym. Many of you here will remember him, will miss him and like me maybe even still not quite believe he's no longer with us.

But we don't ever want to forget Grizz and everything he did for this place.
