Roast Recruiting Department

Time the recruiting department face the music. One constant since MM has been our ability to recruit players who can barely kick over a jam tin let alone hit a target on the chest. Why does Derrick Hine not come under scrutiny ?

Because he once drafted Pendles at 5.

How about Treloar,Aish,Varcoe and Greenwood?

The price we paid for them was far too much imo. We are sure to lose a top 8 pick now.

Good question.I've wondered the same thing myself in recent years.

Had to pay a lot to get Treloar.

We only lost Lumunba for Varcoe and Greenwood was part of the Beams Trade and he wanted to leave

Eleven ACL's in five years, hamstrings being ripped off the bone, twice, injuries, injuries, injuries, injuries, injuries, injuries.. it hasn't ended.
That said it must be crtitiqued, but it's hard to judge after our horrendous run of injuries for five years straight. I thought our lack of heart against a si playing their grand final was telling.

If this keeps up it will be pick 1.

Nah mate, we will have a late resurgence at the end of the year, just miss out on finals, We get excited about the pre season again, bucks gets resigned for another 2 years, and then repeat.

****ing Groundhog Day.

some muppett keeps telling him they can fix kicking....and we're still waiting for it to happen.

One thing I see with this list it can be turned around pretty quick it just needs the right guidance. And the one now I don't have faith in

That's the real issue.
You either can kick or you can't, you may improve slightly over your career but mostly your ability to kick the ball never really changes.
The only players who look like good kicks in the side are Pendlebury, Trelaor, de Goey, Moore, Fasolo, Sidebottom and Reid. That isn't very many from a list of 40.

The biggest problem is the lack of pace across the ground. It's a real running game now,but we would be the worst running team in the competition.Buckley seems to think it's 2002 still, and all you have to do is win the contested ball.Well, clearly that's not the case anymore.

We won that stat today by 18,which is a lot really. But lost the uncontested by 114 which is totally unacceptable that is such a big gap that I thought it was a mistake.

Because the way we structure up doesn't allow us to make use of winning the contested ball invariably we turn it over through being swamped and having not enough players outside the contest.
