Sorry champ, have to disagree with you on this one. I think Scotland is one of the most penetrating kicks in the comp.

Was good at his best...don't know about one of the best in the comp, but good. His kicking had definitely come right back to the pack last year, and its yet to be seen if it was down to the interrupted pre-season or maybe the beginning of the end.

When he's (Scotland) going forward with the thing he is ok, it's when he gets an attack of the Lifesavers, that i start reaching for the medicine cabinet.

I would say its Hadley Vs Grigg for a spot... Hadley might get lucky and get another year, if the Grigg/Gold Coast romours become true. Personally I dont rate mclean he looked better in our midfield because lets face it Melbournes Mids have been terrible over the years brock has been there. He is just simply too slow for todays footy

I reckon this guys is grossly under-rated on BF. For mine, his ability to extract, block, take a strong mark and cover so much ground, running forward and back, make him a walk up starter in our 22...I don't buy all this potential>>>>>>quality crap that seems to be bandied around on BF far too often.

love this, more please, 112 twice. :thumbsu:

Not Carrazzo please. He just doesn't hurt the opposition enough with his disposal, and is why other clubs don't bother putting a close tag on him.

Gotta let it go, fella. You'll do yourself an injury.

Hadley's knock is his poor disposal by foot I would reckon. He plays hard at it and is good at clearances but isn't the sort of player that is good out of stoppages and this will work against him.

This is a bit of a left field one, but a few times lately (especially after I watched that 2001 win over the Pies recently) I've thought of how we've never really replaced that Andrew McKay role on the HBF. You know, tough at it, good in close and reasonable skill coming out of defence.

With Scotland able to chip in for a few goals up forward, does anyone else see Richard as being a good option to rotate between HBF and the middle? With Scotland rotating between HB and HF?

From all reports I've read thus far, Marcus Davies will be exactly this type of player. For my mind this can't happen quick enough as McKay was a lynchpin in our defence.

Davies already has a pretty fair build on him - imagine when he completes a pre-season!!

He could be one of the surprise packets of this year. Seemed to handle himself very well in the Sydney game, no real sign of nerves and played decent game. Looking fwd to seeing a lot more of him throughout the season. :thumbsu:

Hadley gets a game before McLean every week in my books!

After two games McLean has yet to show me anything impressive, He played a shocker against the Swans 2 weeks ago and was terrible in the practice match against Brisbane last week, How Ratts could praise him after the Brisbane game is bewildering to me

Hadley > McLean.

mclean has had horrible recent form including last season and has had injury problems as well, his disposal isnt much better than hadley and hadley has proven himself as a good midfield blocker

still not sure he'll ever string enough games together. been here for a few years now on the fringes and still seems injury prone. we've seen what he's capable of but whether he gets in the team and then stays and provides is another thing.

Hadley is no better at disposing of the ball...
Completely different players - they are not competing for a spot. I agree that 2 extractors would be ideal - providing they BOTH perform, just don't want to be caught out chasing guernseys!!!!
