he better play. last week i thought we need an extra tall up foward. not an excuse for why we lost, but would of made a difference i think. plus if your in coburgs top 3 best one week and then BOG the next surely he deserves a go?

Have an inkling defence is where he will end up long term...and why not?
I see Richo hanging around for two to three more years, Hughes...fingers crossed....settling in to CHF and a resting Simmonds or ....again fingers crossed....Kreuzer filling the third tall forward spot for us.
That would free Jack to be one of our talls down back with Polak and Thursfield, with Polly and Jack offering us some versatlity in being able to be thrown forward whenever the need arises.

I think Reiwoldt is being held back a bit until he plays to instruction. Up forward he was relying on his talent, playing from behind and trying to take contested marks. I think they wanted to see him lead more, and offer multiple leads.
His stints down back have flattered him a little. Basically playing a (old) Bowden like role where he was free to zone-off and get touches. I don't know if he will be picked as a defender with Raines, King, Thursfield, Bowden, Polak looking reasonably settled. It would be good to give those guys another 10 games together to develop some cohesion and understanding.
Up front Reiwoldt's lack of pace and defensive pressure (hence the stint in the backline) could be a problem. Brown and Richo can't/won't chase. Pettifer struggles to apply pressure at times. Rest Patto or Simmo down front and both will be run-off. The Roos play a very small, very 'reboundy' backline.

Jack played a lot of his junior footy in the backline and wasn't till just before he was drafted that he played up forward.
I disagree with Weaver, Jack chases hard when playing in the forward line and his defensive pressure is something he tries hard at. But i agree with weaver in him saying he needs to play to team instructions.
Saying this I don't think he will play this week even though i would love him to.

travelling really well.probably the best 1st round selection the club has made in many a years IMO (beside deledio)

i think jack should sit out this week then come into the side for the rest of the year afterwards.
that way he finishes the year on 9 games
and he still qualifies for the Rising Star Award next year.
