After all the negativity of the past week wasn't it great to see the following performances from some of our younger boys.

Elliott: 16 kicks, 6 handballs, 8 marks, 7 I50's and 2 goals

Seedsman: 11 kicks, 13 handballs, 3 tackles and 6 I50's

Young: 13 kicks, 12 handballs, 7 marks and 3 R50's

Yeah we were playing against the Giants, but all three had an impact today. So the question is do you think one of them will be able to crack it for a nom this week?

It'd be great to see Elliott rewarded for consistent effort, but I think Treloar will ultimately get it this week. His impact on the contest was negligible, however his numbers will be very hard to ignore!

Can't really begrudge Elliot his spot this week but I think hes still outside our very best 22

Line ball with Dids for me. I just don't know if he's as bankable in a big game as Dids at this stage. I guess we'll have to wait and see how Buck's plays it!

Why on earth would you start calling him Billy?

Billy Eliot um yeh ok o_O

Last time I checked that was his nickname on here.

Where is the dislike button??

Anyhow i though Jamie was good enough today without being spectacular as the stats may suggest. As Dermie pointed out he gets into the right place but was victim of a number of skill errors. Will be a great player for us in the future but i would like to see Jamie relax and have faith in himself. He is always so rushed and cramped for space. A few perfect examples was the scrubba along the ground to Dawes, kicking into the man on the mark, missing an easy goal, kicking to opposition and dropping marks he should have taken. Like Sinclair this will only get better with games and confidence.

Fully fit, you've got to give the nod to dids. As he was finding form, he was the most intelligent user of the ball going inside 50. He's the only one who seems to spot up a target, not just bombing it long. I think there's still a couple of question marks over elliots disposal around the ground, but his hands make him such an asset going forward.

I don't mind seedsman, but at the moment he doesnt have any super qualities that stand out for me just yet. But he has a lot of time to prove me wrong.

Young is the interesting one. He seems to get to the right places and attracts the ball but his disposal isn't all that great. Im not sure where we go with him but I'd probably retain him for another year.

sinclair is in front of elliott atm but he is gunna be damn good..

that intercept kick out then goal was a nice touch

really liked seedsmans game.. love to see him get more game time,, he is starting to look more comfortable and runs beautifully..

Elliott brings so much more to the table than Sinclair. Sinclair's main attribute is his forward pressure and I'd rate Elliott's right up there with him. Elliott is a much more complete player, better around goals, better user of the ball, stronger, better overhead... Sinclair is quicker though I'd say.

Not that this is a Sinclair vs Elliott thread though :)

Can't have Sinclair and him in the same side and I think Sinclair has runs on the board.

I disagree with this. To me he's competing more with Goldsack as he's not really playing as a crumber, but is instead playing as a lead up forward who is dangerous overhead and applies good defensive pressure. I'd actually have him well ahead of Goldie for this role.

It is good to get games into those players but the reality is those stats are just average at best given the oppoisition and we won't a flag with those players in the side this year. Luckily we have a few to return.

We have discovered a few this year but they aren't ready for finals yet. We may be able to get away with 1 playing. Long term I like Keeffe, Pain and Elliot. Seedsman has a bit to work on but a bit to work with as well. Williams is a chance. Sinclair has a mile to go but he's young. Yagmoore has shown nothing but he's a boy. I Don't think Young will make it. Mooney is still learning but isn't a footballer yet. I'm looking forward to seeing Whitts next year.

Great from our young blokes,

but im sorry i just cant have Tom Young, just not up to it. Ive watched him pretty closely when he plays and hes just nowhere near AFL standard with disposal, fitness etc.

Seedsman and Elliot will be very good players one day that being said
