I always thought he'd be something special but he got a lot of injuries with us, then when he'd come back he always took too long to string any good games together.

He's probably much happier at Port.
I think our midfield is better now anyway.

Frawley coaching versus Mark Williams coaching

Port Adelaide have taught him to combine his abilities to be a real spark and genuine player. Real success story that wont be a one year wonder.

Under Frawley he was going in all directions when ever he got it with no decisiveness and coughing the ball up but then so did we as a team.

He looked great from what I saw of him today on the highlights.

He will make us look stupid in hindsight but good luck to him as he is a great bloke. Look forward to seeing him next week.

Like he didn't get coaching from Wallace as well.

A good coach can do wonders for a player. Hasn't played a bad game all season and several times been in the top 5 for us. Regularly getting clearances when he has a midfield stint and kicking goals most weeks too. Exactly the sort of player Richmond are lacking this year. ;)

Much appreciated. :thumbsu:

Alot of other players went past him at Richmond and Terry in his wisdom delisted him. I think it was fair to let him go early so another club picked him up. He was always going to struggle in his 1st year back from a knee reco and in his 2nd year he played well at Port Adelaide :thumbsu:

I think, Andre, you could appreciate that had Rodan been a Port player the previous five years and performed as he had for your club, you would have shown him the door too.
Happy to see him doing well, don't get me wrong, I really am, but his time at Tigerland had come.
He's really bolstered your on-ball division....I don't think he would bolster our on-ball brigade in the slightest, which is not overly strong anyway.
To me he seems to benefit from some class and bigger midfield bodies around him and he is relishing that thought.
Give me the likes of Lade, the Cornes' and Burgyones to Pattison, Tivendale, Tuck and Deledio.
Even with my modest football ability, I know which on-ball division I would flourish in.
But thumbs up to Rodan, always good to see a player move on and flourish!

There would be few Tiger supporters who were surprised and/or unhappy that he left. He had his chances and did not take them.

Sometimes a new start is exactly what a player needs.

Good luck to him but almost all of us have moved on and are nonplussed. It's not like we desperately wanted to keep him.

We are quite happy with Nathan Foley as our rover. Foley simply went past Rodan.

As for kicking goals - no one has ever figured how to play alongside Richo. He is impossible to rover to because he doesn't know what he is doing until he has finished doing it.

He's an exciting young player and a very good bloke. Hope he makes it and he has a good career. As Weaver has implied, could you imagine Foley playing for Port? I suspect he would be at another level again. We had to choose between Foley and Rodan and I am comfortable with our decision. I suppose we could have kept them both but they are VERY small.
