Roger Hayden.

Hard not to like Roger, when we first saw him and 'welease woger' was the cry.
He has grown into a very complete and trusted footballer.

For mine AA is overrated.

Deserving (like so many) of some serious finals appearances.

The Game has changed with teams zoning and players who break the lines, creative and set up play are gold. Hayden is pure gold.

I do think that players seem to think that Pav will bring home the win but in reality 22 players must be bring their A Game.

In the modern game not having a superstar power forward does not prevent you from winning premierships eg Geelong and West Coast.

But players who set up play from the Backline are vital to winning eg Hodge, Wirrapunda, and Mackie.

Hayden is equal to Pav in terms of importance.

As much as I love Roger, I think guys like Duffield, Mundy, Johnson, McPharlin and Tarrant carry a greater importance to the team structure. In saying that, I do think he is equal to anyone playing that same position in the league.



He certainly has the talent to be an AA, and if he was playing for Collingwood he would likely grab an AA position, but I think he will continue to slip under the radar. That doesn't bother me one bit. I hope we can get another year or two out of him.

He was in the 40 squad of 2007 i think,


and just a bit of trivia on him, On a footy card i've found he said his most embarrasing moment in life was when he dunked a ring at highs school and he was hanging off it and someone dacked the poor fella.

Sorry boys i know there is a dreamteam board but i really only want some info on Rodger. I must admit being from the east i havnt seen a hell of alot of Rodger. Just interested to find out the following information:

-Do u think Rodger can boost his best supercoach average of 79.
- Can u see him getting big numbers ala The Duffman.
-Is there any injury concerns going into this season.
-I havnt seen him in any preseason games so far this year but listening to the comentary of the Melbourne game on radio, the commentators seemed to think he was overweight.
