G'day guys,

Not sure if you listened back to the podcast but there were a few audio issues where one of you was inaudible for parts of the 2nd half of the podcast.

Yeah Nick just disappeared in parts.

Out of curiosity what kind of mics do you guys record this on? Might be worth investing in a cheap condenser or two in future.

Agree. The headset mics can be painful over a long listen.

Even if they both invested in a shitty second hand dynamic mic and usb interface, it'd sound 50 times better.
Yeah, sorry about the sound. We were recording over sypke and one of us (who shall go unnamed but wasn't Andy) who isn't as tech savy used the computer mike last show. He is under strict orders to get even a crappy mike before the next show.

I, on the other hand, have an ok condenser mike (yeti) but I reckon my turtle gaming headset mike sound better, but people think differently?

What do you use to connect the mic to your computer?

Mic pre-amps make a massive difference, not just the mic itself. Also the software you're recording it with. I'd recommend multi-tracking into something like Reaper where you can add some light compression and normalisation to make the voices sound a bit more level.

Do you normally record over Skype?

Sometimes when it can't be avoided we use skype, but we've started to record two tracks on audacity on our home computers and merge them afterwards to get over the skype issue. The problem is the mics at the moment I think. Nick (who is the first voice you hear) sounds terrible and I wasn't able to fix it this week.

which is up btw:

It's a throwback pod as Nick and Andy return to over analysing the ruck. Plus we look at our finals chances, including who we want to play round 1.
