Sam Jacobs, Adelaide, has been charged with a first offence for Making Negligent Contact with an Umpire ($1200 sanction) for making negligent contact with umpire Stuart Wenn during the first quarter of the Round 23 match between the Adelaide Crows and West Coast, played at Patersons Stadium on Saturday August 31, 2013.

In summary, he can accept a $900 sanction with an early plea.

A first offence for making negligent contact with an umpire is a $1200 sanction. An early plea reduces the penalty by 25 per cent to a $900 sanction.

In other news, Buddy gets 2 weeks down to 1 with an early plea.

More about how weak Buddy's sanctions were rather than the fine. And I was amused because Jacobs towers over the umps and moves at such a lumbering pace that I wonder if the ump actually ran into him.

However if you would prefer it if someone were actually suspended...

Nevermind, vision on the MRP vid shows Jacobs trying to jump over the umpire at a centre bounce while contesting the ball.

Surprised they fined him to be honest.
