Actually pessimism is fairly common among Geelong fans. And Sam's motivation to degrade the team's effort are hardly pure. It's simply a way to big note himself, he thrives from the attention can't live without it.

Finally something that might shut him up, not that I wish him ill hope he recovers but the guy does get on my nerves with his repetitive pessimistic nonsense this ought to distract his attention for a while.

You damn well should be ashamed of yourself!!.....The man is battling cancer, and you have to post something like that.....AND he is a champion of your (and my family) club....shame on you, is all I can say......cheers and best wishes to Sam for a complete and successful recovery.......p.s...Whenever Sam said anything against the club, you can believe that most other clear thinking cats fans would agree with him!!.....Whether you like it or not, there was a time the Cats where on the nose, everyone could see it, including Sam.......its called honesty...eyes wide open etc....I would think he was far more qualified to comment on the team than YOU are!...He has earnt that right IMO!!...Good luck Sam....

You're dead wrong. He criticises the team when they are playing badly. I'm so glad he does! In 2006, you're right, he dished out a pasting. And so he should - surely you were too? I certainly was.

In late 2007 he was full of praise for them. I remember most weeks his tip was as follows: "Geelong will flog them".

Well okay maybe I should have phrased it better, it's not like I want him to die or anything. Still there are certain aspect of Sam's public persona that I find extremely distasteful, rude and racist at times. He himself has admitted that some are giving it to him by saying "it couldn't have happened to a nicer guy".

That's too simplistic he doesn't any credit for that. You need the strategy and quality players to pull it off. The game has changed dramatically you're dealing with athletes now it's not as simple as just bombing the ball long and crossing your fingers someone from your team marks it. Last year our players were mentally and physically ready for it.

That is so very true, now that the mocker is off Geelong I would imagine that they will be a better side this year (Scary)
