Sorry but im singling out these players who make the same mistakes every week.

Reilly - He has good foot disposal when there is no pressure but he turns the ball over in the midfield too many times when the heat is on. Hasnt become the player we thought he would be. Took him before Dal Santo too, as mentioned a few times in tonights game.

Stevens - Too slow, does nothing in the forward line and was upset that Walker was on the bench for large chunks of the game while Stevens was on the ground in the forward line at CHF. He is then moved into the backline (to cover the injury to Bock), again does nothing except cost a few goals by giving the ball to the opposition through smothered kicks or handballs.

Schmidt - Too many costly turnovers in our defensive 50. Makes the wrong decision to often than not. Maybe has no awareness of the person who he is passing too and what pressure they are under.

Doughty - In a winning team he can appear to be a good player but this year while we have been struggling he has shown he isnt the player he is when the team is going good. Defensively not up to scratch. Maybe he is being matched up with the wrong player?

Thompson is the frustrating one. He should be the best player on our list. Not just tonight. Im talking about overall. Our best player. He has the size, experience, games played, in his prime (what is he, around 26 yrs old). He will get you 20 or 25 touches with no impact whatsoever. No goals, fumbles a lot, looks slow. Very disappointing. The captain debate should have been a no brainer. It should be him. But seems he has gone backwards over the last few years.

Another player not doing enough is porps. And while they are still kids, petrenko and sloane looked dis-interested tonight.

Feel like I'm reading the Port Adelaide board with the sentiment. Geez South Australian football is in dire straits right now.

Looks like the SANFL will get bumper crowds in September this year :o

Rielly and Thompson disposal is woeful, they pretty much handball to other players under pressure or put them under pressure simply by missing the target, this is why our current midfield will get killed each and everytime by teams like St Kilda with quality midfielders, as it was mentioned a few week ago our midfield is B+ at the very best, we do not right now have an A grade midfielder on our list.

Schmidt was unlucky on a couple of occassions and the prime example was when he misread Schnider and went boundryside rather than attack his left side, will learn and get better.

Stevens is a major concern and is now clearly having his position in the side questioned, could be another on the chopping block at years end if he cant lift to the standards we know he is capable of.

I tend to agree that we have some Clangers Serial Offenders

- Schmidt, my heart is in mouth every time he takes possession
- Thompson and Radar, both once were highly skilled players however now consistently burn the ball
- Stevens, always good for 1 or 2 turnovers a game

The other player I would add to the list is Rutten, IMO Truck is a great 1+1 contested defender and he needs to play to this strength much like Daniel Merritt instead of trying to be that rebound player from defence

Yeah I hate when Reilly has the ball. He can do so well but screws up a lot. Maybe its because im biased against him, but I feel like he goes for the safe option too much as well. Goes the across field chip rather than the 40 pass forward.

But my biggest pet hate is Stevens week in week out giving away frees for hands in the back. It hasnt worked Stevo, it wont change. EVERY week he does it.

mate - someone has to do it - Truck is working his (considerable) arse off back there - where are the other rebounders???

Damn right.

Truck absolutely busts his arse every week, last night was the first time he's actually spent any time on the bench resting, but he's working so hard at present to try and hold our backline together - and without Stiffy/Otten and just when Bock was finding form/fitness he's injured again, Truck is trying to provide run out of the back line, when he shouldn't have to. And lets not forget how many times he's been exposed by the midfielders being lazy.

The guy isn't perfect, but I reckon he's been huge for us this year, yet again.

Doughty, I think last night you're being a bit harsh on him. He pisses me off at times, but Milne was a terrible match-up for him, ideally Stiffy would take him (and I don't know why we didn't put Petrenko on him), but Milne was always going to be too quick, too agile and too crafty for Doughty.

Stevens... Needs to go back to the SANFL, simple as that. I'm starting to wonder whether the head-knocks he's copped have actually done something to him, because he doesn't look right at all.

Reilly is the one who infuriates me. He's Symes without the toughness. Can't believe I thought back in 2007 that he would become a worthy cog in the engine room.

Really ...REALLY ..miss Otten and a fit Bock...Johncocks antics have not helped either.

Stevens had an absolute shocker. Giving away frees, dropping marks, fumbling, kicking to the other team... looked like he was in a Saints jumper for most of the night.

Just an awful awful game.

Schmitty, I think he can be forgiven a little, given he's 12 years old and it's his 6th or 7th game or so. Hopefully he's learning from these mistakes.

it comes back to the coach as well craigy should of moved him out of the play and give someone else who was 'hot' a go.

Did they change the draft age? :p;)

Porplyzia is one player who seems to be copping no flak for a very sub-standard year, especially coming off an almost All-Australian year. Not to mention a number of our elite players like Bock, ST, Vince etc. Admittedly they've had injury issues, but even then they have failed to show on-field leadership.

Way too much attention has been directed at the kids who are being asked to hold up a team that has fallen apart mentally.
