I rekon this bloke, Sando, has a lot to do with how well Geelong are playing. He is very team orientated and very well respected by his peers.

This could be the recruit of the year!...

Glad to have him back at the Cattery.

Let’s wait and see how we perform in the season proper before we celebrate the recruit of the year.

So far we have knocked off an underdone Richmond unit (if you can call them that) and fluked a game against PA. Our game style looks better but I certainly won’t be rejoicing in the performance of the new coaching staff until we beat two to three top eight sides from last year (not inc Coll or WB round 1).

Gr8 to have Sando back though i agree!!!:thumbsu:

I'm not convinced about the alleged effectiveness of assistant coaches. Pretty overrated really. If senior AFL players need some guru telling them they need to improve their pace or disposal or football skills they're in the wrong job.

Nothing against Sanderson, but let's not get carried away.

No the losses are Thompson's, it's a good cop, bad cop scenario.

Food for thought:

"But Cats coach Mark Thompson drew positives from the manner in which his team slowly managed to break the goal drought with a much-improved second-half performance.

``I think we have been criticised because we haven't been able to kick goals when sides do that to us [ie. flood], and we knew that Brisbane was going to do it,'' he said.

``We wanted to leave the boys there. We could have done something else, but we decided not to. We decided to let them fight their way through the situation."
