The Cardtrader
The King of cardboard
From a guy who's dad was a Milk Bar rep in the 60s.
Apparently some samples went around before the 1968B series were printed. Richmond were unhappy that there were no Tigers photographed for the set so they sent some photos to Scanlens to include. Only one was to be included - Royce Hart - but the Tigers, already at war with the VFL over the unauthorised move from Punt Rd to the MCG told them if the other players couldn't be also included then to leave them out. Scanlens then went and included extra Carlton players instead - the sworn enemy!
This sample, probably sent to the club, must be close to a one off, it's value hard to fathom, even with the damage on the border.
Thoughts?
