Ok so for some reason the AFL decided to shorten our season to 21 games because they feared the Tiger so much they thought it only fair on the opposition that we have one less opportunity to win a game.
There's always that team that wins every game, and then loses in the grand final because they were complacent... Well we've already fixed that issue well done.
So round 1... 10 sleeps to go. Both teams coming off preseason losses and feeling a bit disappointed and worried about their season ahead. It looks like there could be 80,000 still rocking up to this Thursday night classic as the stakes are high.
Damian Hardwick trialed some pretty interesting tactics during the preseason but it was only in jest to put his opposition off. Come round 1 he will return his stars to their rightful positions and bring an almighty powerhouse to the MCG. He will also see about the one man who can influence the outcome of a match purely with a look... Jake the Snake Pushing a Motorcyle Up the Hill with His Bikie Mates King. It looks likely that a few other classy players will overcome a preseason with little niggles and play in round... Jackson, Knights...
Ellis and Conca looked a bit out of sorts in their last season bout as did Riewoldt and Vickery but some believe that it was just a sign that they only turn the jets on when it counts.
Looking forward to this round 1 game as it could really set the tone for a top 4 season....
