Can 2012 be McNamar’s big chance?

I know there is talk of him moving on and whatnot…
But I think if Collingwood keep him on for at least one more year and guarantee him plenty more game time early on, he may surprise.

I think he deserves a chance, especially with the retirement of Leroy.

Re: Shae McNamara' s chance?

His only chance is GWS, won't be with us next year apparently.

Nice bloke, but he will never make it as an AFL footballer.

Re: Shae McNamara' s chance?

Witts needs time... he'll play snr - but its more important to put game time into players like Wood and McNamara, because Jolly cant go-it alone next year...

What would I give for a Hamish McIntosh...

Re: Shae McNamara' s chance?

Also his pretty much got no chance of getting even VFL time next year. his a ruckmen isnt he? we got ceglar witts wood all wanting to do the majority of the ruckwork in the vfl

McNamara V Witts...lol...Witts eats McNamara's for breakfast. Have you seen the kid? He makes Anthony Rocca look like Jarrod Blair...lol

AND HE CAN PLAY!

Witts should play NAB. Then it depends Dawes and Woods form or injuries. Or possibly what Bucks does to shuffle players into Browns role.

Re: Shae McNamara' s chance?

I think Shae has more "currency" with Collingwood than just his football abilities; I think it would be detrimental to lose him. And, I do not just mean he is an awesome bloke.....

The smart clubs actually wait till after trade week to announce most of their delistings, simply because you never know what you might be able to get in trade week for someone you want to delist.

We may announce our rookie delistings before or during trade week, but I'd expect us to delay our senior list changes until after trade week.:)

We can't have a thread on the Collingwood board without mentioning Witts! Hope he's not a spud  just teasing but anyway Shae won't be with us next year, he announced this on his Facebook a while back. Hope he gets another chance though

Re: Shae McNamara' s chance?

He's gone unfortunately. Would've been a fantastic story if he cracked the side, but it was always going to be a long shot, learning a completely new game in 2 years well enough to play it at the highest level would've been a herculean effort.

Re: Shae McNamara' s chance?

If he is gone, I wish him all the best. His improvement over the 2 years was out of sight. The biggest problem is that he doesn't have a traditional role for a bloke that size. He's not quite a ruckman, is a good forward without being quite able to play key position but is extremely agile. I would have loved to have seen him played on the wing in an AFL game.

So the Same Problem like Josh Fraser had

When did he announce that? And what did he say?:(

Re: Shae McNamara' s chance?

Shae Mac has been delisted, from the horses mouth. There are no more chances, sad in my opinion, great character around the club. Just shows how ruthless Buckley will be, no place for sentiment in AFL football.

So you are actually saying he told you this, correct? Very disappointed if this is true.

I love Shae and like I said I think he has/had bigger importance than on the feild.

Seriously, can you stop typing HIS for HE'S. It is HE'S as in HE IS.

Christ.

Re: Shae McNamara' s chance?

This is a comment made by Shae Mac when asked if he's been put on the list for next year or not...

Shae McNamara "Thanks n will know after the trade block"

Re: Shae McNamara' s chance?

He also said this:

Shae McNamara
"Well, bummer! The pies will be fine! All the best to them! Was a crazy 2 years!"

Re: Shae McNamara' s chance?

Steak knives to get Clarke over the line.

Would be handy for promo purposes at GWS, would actually play the game, and would be better value for GWS than McLean ever would.

Christ.

Its the possesive form of He. Possesive because it is HIS chance

"Also his pretty much got no chance of getting"

"Also he is pretty much no chance of getting"

Stop trying to be a grammar police, idiot.

Re: Shae McNamara' s chance?

Actually in "Also his pretty much got no chance of getting"... it's not his or he's as in "he is", but he's as in "he has". Whatever, we all know what is being communicated so who cares? Im sure if theres a grammar policeman, hid have got me years ago.
