What do you guys think his chances are of ever playing a test for Australia? Has been a solid one day player of Australia. Would love to see him given a chance. Thoughts?

He needs another solid season in the Sheffield Shield before they'll consider him. He's been too inconsistent so far in long format and doesn't have enough tons under his belt for the number of first class matches he has played.

Has he ever played in England over winter? I don't think he has.

He should be in the 20/20 team though. It's really silly that he isn't. He should open or be at 3 in place of Clarke.

Moving to NSW might help him. :D Like it did Katich.

would love to see him get back in there, one of my favourites.
his brother mitch looks like a real gem too. anyone know what he's doing at the moment?

Not sure. His first FC season was awesome. Alot of people talking about him last year. Will get his chance soon enough.

Depends if he ever decides to play for NSW then his chances drasticaly improve.

On a serious note he needs a sustained period in which he accumulates runs and....... STAYS FIT ON THE PARK... he has showed a lot of promise but you would have to have some concerns about his injury toll. Dodgy hammies are not a huge vote of confidence.:o

Wish him all the best.:thumbsu:

He is a very good limited over cricketer. However in the longer version of the game he is a tad inconsistent. He tends to make a lot of starts and then either does not go on or goes not and then plays a silly shot. His brother Mitch is I think a better batsmen but falls into the same category. Bookmark Mitch Marsh to head up our 20/20 side at some point though in his career. He is an unbeleivable striker of the ball.

yep shaun marsh is a chance at some point soon if he's playing well at the right time.

plenty of spots will open up with the staggered retirements of ponting, hussey and katich (this aussie summer could well be their last, or perhaps one more aussie summer).

also, who knows where north's test career is headed.

I would love to see Shaun Marsh play a role in the middle order for us sometime, perhaps at 6, love the way he bats, and has the technique to hang in there, his FC career probably hasnt matched his one day stats to date but time is on his side, and I would love to see him instead of Marcus North

I'm glad that Katich is the last in that list. He's the only reliable bat we have now. He might not get too many tons but he's about the only one who can tough out difficult conditions.

I'm starting to think that all the rest are flat track bullies or have got ADD or something. The ability to concentrate has deserted Punter. And I'm not sure that North has ever had it for extended periods of time.
