Just watched the Bombers/Bulldogs game and was glad to see Skipworth play well. 15 odd possessions and 2 goals wasn't a bad return to the big time. Always liked him when he was a Crow and will watch this new chapter of his career with interest. I wish him all the best (except against us).

He was always a good honest player for us so I think he will do a decent job for them. Interesting to note that he also laid 7 tackles tonight.

i thought it was a pretty solid return, he looked good getting a few frees for having his body over the ball, and after the goals you could see how important he is to the morale of the club. could become a very important pick up for the bombers and all the best to him.

Skipworth was always a decent player for us, and very classy in the SANFL but along with James Gallagher, he was a bit unlucky. His lack of size always went against him but the skills are definitely there. Good luck to him at the Bombers.

Another Skippy thread, yay.

Not good enough to be at the Crows lads, the Bombers can have him despite their youth policy. Too small and can't kick over a jam jar.

Dirty bastard as well but that's another chapter.

Apparently the real reason Skippy left the SANFL was out of fear of retribution........

I remember that incident. The first time I saw Skipworth ever throw a fist in anger and it was against a young kid half his size. P*ssweak.

Its more an indication of Essendons list rather then Skipworths ability that he is still playing AFL.

I think this is another example of guys with a heap of state league experience showing they can offer something to AFL teams.

However, considering the love affair most clubs have with youth, it would appear that many clubs would rather gamble on kids with draft pick 80+ as they _could_ be the next big thing (despite the ridiculously low probablity).

His 2005 averages with the Crows are pretty reasonable too:

21 games,
15 disposals per game.
12 goals 11 behinds.
2.5 tackles per game.
4 marks per game.
