Sky Marshalls??

I know it would cost way too much money and the idea would never get off the ground but isnt it about time every plane had a trained Police Officer or Marshall on board who is armed?

simple answer: NO!

1). Because it would be giving any wannabe highjacker ANOTHER weapon.

2). Do you seriously think that one cop (no matter how well trained) could help 'take-out' that many terrorists?? At most they would be able kill about 2-3 before the element of surprise is wasted! Highjackers USUALLY work in groups of 4-8 and they are also trained themselves!

So, like you said yourself Jod, the idea will never get off the ground (pardon the pun!). There are just too many Cons and not enough Pros!

If security was good enough for hijackers only to get knives on board how are 4 hijackers gonna take down a man armed with a gun. Hell dress them in civilian clothing so the hi jackers do not know which person it is and his gun will have a silencer so to he could take out 2 or 3 without the others noticing. He should also be trained to fly planes just in case. It is a good idea but the money involved would be too much.
