Couldn't find a thread already started, apologies if there is already one.

Do many others still play/ collect snes games? I have recently started getting back into it, have about 30 games at the moment.

Hands down best console imo

I haven't gotten a SNES game for ages but I still play it from time to time. That along with the Sega Megadrive are two of my favourite consoles. I feel sorry for the younger generation who never got a chance to play those two.

Cut my teeth as a gamer on the SNES, playing all the obligatory Mario/Zelda/FF titles, as well as a few other little gems like Zombies Ate My Neighbors and Super International Cricket.

Haven't dug the old girl out for a while, but have an emulator on my phone which gets a run every now and again. It was nice to finally get to play Earthbound.

I still prefer the N64, just because almost every big Nintendo title was an instant classic and even the ordinary games were just shitloads of fun, but I love the SNES too. Come to think of it, it's hard to knock any Nintendo console.

Yes, love mine. Need to buy a CRT TV so I can play again!
You can buy a cable that will allow you to play on your new tv.

Inherited one, great old console. Never had too many games, 15 or 20 or something, and we were still buying games for it in the late 1990s to like 2002ish. NBA Jam, Mortal Kombat, Battle Toads were the gems.

Nah, rather play it on a CRT. Plus I need a CRT for old school light gun games.

Own those three, currently playing through NBA Jam again. So many damn buzzer-beaters.

hell of a system. playing though soul blazer at the moment; that's a damn game.

i'm up for reopening some old wounds, so lets have this fight: SNES vs SEGA mega drive.

at the time, in the schoolyard when this shit was blowing up, i was a SEGA kid. but when emulation went mainstreamish in the late 1990s and i didn't have a heap of $ for games, I got BIG into a lot of the meaty SNES JRPGs that I hadn't played earlier in the decade. as a result, i'd probably go with the SNES overall. that said, this is the ONLY generation, besides probably the last generation where there was just **** all titles on the wii, where nintendo didn't have the best first party line up; still think mega drive had a slight edge in that respect.
