... after some shitty beats over an extended period I decided to take a break, clear the head, see the sun, etc.

Came 13th in a 180 person 20+2 SnG last night, and while disappointing not to get into the real cash, I felt confident, back if you will.

Until tonight this happens:

Seriously fellas. What do I have to do here? I'm sick of walking away going, "oh well... I couldn't have played it any better, I got my money in with the best hand!!!1, lulz".

This is just rubbish - not only are they repeatedly calling with absolute and utter shit (KQos and Q4s in the face of a big raise - then what's Storm doing calling two all-ins with low pair?), but they keep hitting mathematical rarities to send me packing.

Destination: Wit's end.

Is this real money or play money ?

You just need to stop caring. Just move on, open and other sit and go, and keep playing solid.

Poker is a game of cards, you can't expect your hand to always hold up.

A10 isn't a reraising hand for good players, but it is a hand that new or bad players might want to play with. If you had lost the hand, would be be posting here? No, you'd be fist pumping and thanking the donk for doubling you up. Ok, you lost when you flopped top set, but it was all in preflop and he was drawing at 3 live aces with a 30ish% chance of beating you. This really isn't anything new. It's pretty standard.

The hand with the aces is pretty disgusting, but once again, its standard. Donkeys overplay KQ so much in tournaments it disgusts me. I see people calling big all ins with KQ every day. What do they put their opponent on, QJ? They know they are flipping at best, but alot of the time they will also be crushed (AA, KK, QQ, AK, AQ). But at the same time, given the choice between the guy folding his KQ or calling you, I think you know which option you'd choose.

I have had some disgusting beats lately, but at the same times I have no illusions because I've also inflicted some. Yesterday when playing some sngs, when relatively short I was making some steals from the button and smallblind. Two or three times I got called by big hands (jacks when I had Q3, KQ when I had Q5, AK when I had K10). All these times I won the hand. I think I did this all within the one sng, which due to the good luck I ended up salvaging and winning. Did I complain about this? No, but the guy to my left that I kept beating sure would have. It's just variance. People tend to pump themselves up when they are getting the nice side of swongs (winning coin flips, hitting draws) and cite their superior play, and then meltdown when they cop beats and blame the donkeys.

Basically, take a break if you want, but just hang on and you'll get some upswongs.

LOL at Storm Deluxe calling with his Q4 - just shocking play. I checked him out on Sharkscope and he has lost %501 in 658 games - not the worst but clearly not the best either.

Yeah. It's just these aren't isolated - I'm in the middle of an absolutely filthy run at present. The last couple of hands were the final straw - hence my desire to post.

Cheers for the advice though. Hopefully the upswing is just around the corner.
