So at the half way point of the season, the Bloods sit 7th on 6-5. So many 'what if's?', What if we didn't get off to a sluggish start against the Weagles? What if we had kicked straight against the Crows?
Looking at statistics, we are 5-6 in 1st Qtrs, 6-5 in 2nd Qtrs, 6-5 in 3rd Qtrs and 6-4 in 4th Qtrs (a draw in the last against the Hawks, 2.3 each.).
The Bloods have kicked 38.32 in 1st Qtrs compared to 41.23 to our opponents. In 2nd Qtrs we've kicked 30.27 compared to 28.18. 31.25 to 27.36 in the 3rd Qtrs and 38.31 to 20.22 in the last Qtrs.
What does that suggest? All the Qtrs look line ball apart from the last where it seems the Bloods manage to step up. Also interesting to point out that our opponents have kicked more goals than points in the 1st and 2nd Qtrs but in the 3rd and 4th Qtrs our opponents kicking seems to have dropped away, kicking more points than goals.
I guess it's really hard to draw anything from these sort of statistics. It may be a bit easier to come to a better conclusion looking at games individually.
Interesting to note that previous to the Hawks game, every game we had led at Qtr time in, we've won. On the flip side, every game we have trailed at Qtr time in we've lost. The Hawks game may have broken the trend, but is that stat anything to base our 2nd half of the season on?
