just scrolling through afl tables and came across him.

49 goals from 18 games in his first year 1985 then 29 goals in his next 59 games.

what happened? did he get moved to the backline? if so, who was recruited in and took his spot?

Was 100g FF in u19 , future looked bright early on, like most in that era at Tigerland, the promise was short lived. Edelsten Chq book swans tried to prize him from punt rd from memory that was aborted. Father of Home and away actress tessa James . Last I heard he wasn't well. Hope he s going ok now

Bomber was very talented. Lack of pace and a few injuries maybe caught up with him. He was diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma a few years ago. Not sure what his status is now. Tessa was diagnosed with Hodgkins as well a few years ago, not long after Bomber.

Hope he (and Tessa) are going ok. I liked Bomber as a player. Had a bit of class.

Remember his first season well, made quite the impact and definitely a crowd favourite.
Like most left footers, he looked the goods when he got going.
Did eventually spend some time down back.
Was pretty injury prone, hence the drop off in form.
