The thing that i have noticed with morris since he came to richmond is that he no longer runs off his man and doesnt run and carry , When he was playing sanfl he was a brilliant play maker off hb and distributed the ball brilliantly - would love to see him run foward and snag a goal here and there

done that before but he is a role player and if houli could stick a tackle he might be able to have more freedom but until we completely organize our HB he will play with in his role and bloody well at it

Really? I only got there for the second half, and while I wasn't exactly focusing on him I thought I saw him on Rioli every time he was forward. Defs in the 4th cos I was closer to that end.

Maybe he was swapping? Who was on Rioli if Morris wasn't?

Yeah, making the AA team should count for less than it does, because it's not a functional team. More a Who's Who list of fantasy footballers.

I don't mind if Morris (or any other Tiger) miss AA. I don't care if some panel of experts don't rate Morris's ability to win Dream Team points.

Morris beats his a quality opponent in a real game of footy every week. Every week.

Yeah from watching the replay yesterday, it looked like Matty White went to Rioli later in the game.

Good post Gun - I'm thinking that maybe with quite a few decent rebound options already down there (Houli, Vlastuin, Ellis and even Lids is spending some time there), we can probably afford Morris to be a pure lock down small (something he is probably the best at the club for). He does look good though when he runs hard up the ground to create an option and always goes to spoil the ball with a 2 handed dive. You just get the feeling he won't die wondering and is just happy to be playing his role in the side every week. :thumbsu:

And to think he's only 24 with plenty of good tough football ahead of him.
 
Who get's the credit for this bloke? Blair of FJ? I hope it's FJ. Had a torrid couple of weeks on BF.
 
It appears some media are starting to pay attention to how well Morris is playing.

Sorry if this was discussed in the game day thread (I avoid that when I'm at games, only for when I'm watching on TV) but Gary Lyon was actually going on about him for a little while in the Triple M commentary box on Saturday.

I don't have verbatim quotes but he was singing his praises and said that he believes if you're going to pick a small forward in the AA team, then you should also pick a small defender and if they were to do that, then Morris should be it.

Nice to hear a little recognition for him and hopefully it catches on.

Is it just me.. or is there something in the air down in adelaide that makes em delusional?

Adelaide.. crazy plain and simple for getting rid of Morris. Has more hardness in him than their whole current defence put together. They also gave us big Ivan for nothing and took tambling (lol) off our hands. C. Knights too would also still be in their best 22.. also probably in the top 5 best kicks in their team.

Port i think are also crazy for giving us their best defender. Chappy has not missed a beat and i cant remember a time all year where he hasnt looked solid. I remember port fans saying that they got rid of him because his kicking is a liability coming out of defense. Don't know what they are smoking because this year his disposal even under pressure has been very good.

Footy Classified too. Hutchy gave Matthew Lloyd a roasting last night for not having Morris in his rolling AA :thumbsu:
 
i like morris but hey he aint anywhere near AA, let me put it this way, he is well rated as he should be as a very good solid lock down ferocious player. main reason = coz he was practically given away at trade time and is probably playing for peanuts as well, so this represents great value. if the same guy was taken at pick 4 like tambling for example peeps would probably say geez he goes ok but a lack of polish, makes mistakes and a bit ordinary in the skills department. happy as larry hes a tiger tho.:thumbsu:
