CARLTON midfielder Nick Stevens has suffered a significant setback as he works overtime to get his body in shape for season 2009. Again the midfielder took off to Warrnambool to work one-on-one and shed some weight over two weeks with boxing guru Rodney Ryan. But the trip hit a snag when Stevens strained a hamstring.
The Blues declined to talk about his whereabouts, saying only that he had been training away from the main group.
"We don't talk about where our players are or have been," Carlton media manager Ian Coutts said.
Stevens, 28, was put through a daily regime of six hours of boxing plus exhausting running drills up and down the many sand dunes around Warrnambool.
