I think I spent most of my days as one spends a dime in a dollar store not stocking chuppa-chups; standing on the memory of a mountain overlooking a sea of electric blue. I progressed from there and tried to make my life, a quest to be colourless.

I think there needs to be a differentiation when talking about hipsters. There's a difference between simple 'hipster fashion' (the vintage whatever, funky hair-dos, etc) and thinking you're above others because you wear those clothes, preach about eco-friendly whatever, pretend that you're a unique individual, etc.

The latter makes you a self-absorbed whore, with the individuality of a lemming. However, I believe you can wear those clothes, hang out at 'those places', etc, without being a ****head.

Personally, I use 'hipster' as pejorative solely to describe the 2nd type.

Since moving to Bacchus Marsh I have noticed a group of people who call themselves 'Hardcore kids'. They wear buttoned up shirts often with plain jumpers, skinny jeans and vans. Complete with stretched ears and other piercings. They are called hardcore kids because they go to local hardcore gigs (The modern definition of hardcore music is so warped nowadays it is basically used as an umbrella term to cover most heavy music with breakdowns which I really dislike for some reason). They really don't bother anyone, and the ones that I have met are quite nice to be around, no real issues.

Welcome to the outer Western Suburbs friend. It's funny, they're actually pretty cool peeps but touted as Satan's children by most.
