What in the **** was with substituting Sibo off?

Apart from Pavlich and Sandilands, he's been the only real forward of note where you wonder what might happen when the ball heads his way.

To be honest that was what I was enjoying most about the game, until we took him off.

FFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

I didnt see all of the game....saw first half....very impressed with Sibo!

The only reason him being substituted that i can see would of been first AFL match and probably dead on his feet...but like i said i didnt see the 2nd half

He did look to be puffing a bit..but in a dead rubber match time and experience matters...

Ah well...till next season eh?

He looked out of puff.

If Sibo is on the list next year there will be a moment in the preseason that will let us know if it's been a waste to draft him.

If Peter Faulks can beat him in the time trials, Sibo isn't working hard enough. Faulks was the least fit player capable of training last preseason, if he can get his workrate (all in his head) right in ONE year and Sibo can't, then it'll speak volumes.

Look, it was a strange move because he was looking fairly good.

BUT, and hear me out here, he was starting to look tired and, this bit was hard to pick up on TV, but it looked like he was getting caught out of position too. He wasn't structurally holding his position. It's a long bow, but its the only thing I can come up with. It just looked like he was.

I'm not confident of that defence though. :o I too would have liked for him to play it out, especially given the players that went down towards the end, but that's my guess for the reasoning.

Anybody at the game have a view of what his work rate off the ball was looking like?

That's what I was alluding to.

It may work out for him. Get a taste of the big time and then realise how hard you actually have to work and how fit you have to be to continually play at that level.

Surely the best way to show him how fit you have to be at this level would have been to leave him on for the whole game and let him get run off his feet? It's not like the result mattered.

Worst substitution decision ever.

Schammer was absolutely butchering the ball at every opportunity and was killing us with turnovers. Hinkley was playing crap as usual, Mayne was running around in circles ineffectively and Bucovaz was hardly giving anything. Sandilands should have also been considered because he was starting to struggle.

Sibosado off while Schammer stays on, WTF? The only possible conclusion you can draw is that Harvey was tanking.

First time I've seen him play.

Seems like the pro Sibbo team are on to something.

Hope gets another crack next year.

The major point is thought that players shouldn't only be judged on their WAFL performances. We see it time and time again where players don't set the world on fire with their WAFL games but as soon as they get an AFL game they play twice as good. The step up from WAFL to AFL is huge and that means that players are surrounded by team mates with far betters skills, running patterns, fitness and structures.

My point is should Sibo have gotten a debut game earlier? You always need to give your prospects a taste of the bigtime so they know how hard they have to work. Even Pitt to a degree doubles his possession count from WAFL to AFL. Same goes for Viv Michie, he should of been given a debut game mid way through the season.

Probably better than kill him by leaving him on.

He was stuffed, he couldn't chase. The result was still up for grabs at the time so I don't have a problem with it.

If the result was still up for grabs, why leave the only player on who was denying us the opportunity to win?

Schammer playing practically guaranteed the game for the Bulldgogs. Don't give any of this shit about not taking a player off who's playing their last game either, because he shouldn't even have been given the opportunity.

He was the ONLY player? There were plenty of players out there that could have been subbed off. However they can all run for the majority of the day. Sibosado could not. He even had a long spell on the bench at one point.

Ok, maybe not the only player, but far and away the worst player out there. So much so that he was effectively an extra man for the Bulldogs. There is no point leaving a man who can run all day out there if he is also turning the ball over all day. I'd take a tired Sibosado over that in a heartbeat.

I thought he played well took a few contested marks which is very rare for a Docker he definitely did more than Bucovaz, Schammer, Bollenhahen and particularly Anthony who did nothing. Tho I get the feeling that his days might be numbered not sure if he did enough today to save his spot.

How is the kid so unfit after being on the list as long as he has been. If that is indeed why he was subbed. He seems lazy to me, and lazy players shouldn't be on the teams. Having said that interesting what the commentators had to say about MJ's physique.

He's had 3 preseasons now, if he's still not fit enough to run out a game then maybe dying out there is the wake-up call he needs.

That's the rub of it isn't it. That's the difference between players who make it and very talented players who don't.

I think we saw what Sibo could be today, and it looked pretty good. But we also saw that he's not quite up to it. If he can't get an engine big enough (or mental strength for Tommo's argument) to play out a game of AFL after 3 years in the system, then he's just a liability really.

It would be bad list management to have won that game.

Schammer playing his last game, a nothing game, a game that to have won could cost us a few pick places, is something I have no problem with. It's a little bit of respect to a player who the game has passed by that costs the club nothing.

He might be a short, turnover merchant, but he's had a lot of unrecognised professionalism behind the scenes. He's not got the natural talent of a lot of our list, but he's got the work rate and that's something entirely down to his character.

I think it's good for the club that he is rewarded with a full game. It sends a message that talent won't get you all the way (Brett Deledio), but hard work will get you close enough.

I still maintain that Sibosado was as spent as last week's dole cheque. There's no need to risk him doing damage to himself, if he put the effort in before he was subbed, they'd have seen it and could reward it.

But a tired Sibosado would be like having Schammer out there... He would offer absolutely 0 and just let his man run free.

I didn't see any evidence of it, in fact Suban was showing far greater signs of being stuffed.

The decision stank to high heaven.

0 would be an improvement on Schammer who was running at about -3 out of 10. Sibosado would have at least offered a marking option in the goal square.

But, as somebody already pointed out, Fremantle was only advantaged by losing the game.

He got that last week.

His last game was this week. It's that simple.

Along with Broughton, late in the third, yes. Sibo played key position, he's not exactly noted for pushing through, both Suban and Broughton are runners.
