Sydney Kings placed into administration

Just heard the Sydney Kings have been placed into voluntary administration.Anyone know more about this as to why etc not being a huge Basketball fan myself?

They are losing money playing at Homebush. I think they are contracted to play there for another two seasons.

And of course the NBL has guaranteed their future.

They should have to cut their roster back (ie. not have the highest paid squad in the country), they should also be stopped from signing high profile FA's like Bear Ronaldson.

Sydney Kings have always been the biggest spenders in the NBL and I'm not surprised. Homebush is too expensive for the crowds that they draw to most home games and I agree about their roster being too big.

But every club should have a look at this because the NBL is not in a healthy state and clubs need to consider what their longterm financial position is. The NBL is not drawing the crowds it was 10 years ago and they are still slowing decreasing in some states. Time to follow a proper sport where you don't need to be a 6'6" freak

ah fook...

the superdome at homebush (as state of the art as it is) is just too damn big and expensive for nbl games...

the kings can hardly fill half the stadium (eg. 10,000 on a very good nite)...
