i know his name is mentioned over and over on bigfooty, but what is the latest on him, his such a promising player but injuries seem to get the better of him.

few questions?

will he ever live up to the player he was suppose to be?
is he getting better?
will he ever be fully injury free?
and why did he play only 50% of the game against geelong? fittness, injuries, wanting to rest him a bit before the proper season....

We were just making sure he doesn't get injured before round 1

He appeared to be completly free of injuries:thumbsu: (also Bailey said he only played the players that were 100% fit)

I think we will have to wait until the end of this season to find out wether he will live up to his potential...:thumbsu:

The Geelong game was typical of his games last year - ie spent time on the bench, kicked a goal, created some stuff, went hard at the footy and chased (at times), earnt his spot in the team for next week but at the end of the day only touched it 10 times and could have done so much more. I'm sure that this year we will get atleast one performance where we just sit back and go damn that was good. Will he ever get to the point where he does it 10 times a year, I'm not sure.

Agree with u master for a change, totally agree...........Until he is able to get fit enough or can be bothered enough to play mid-field he is truely overrated by a lot of people here. I pray he becomes all he can be and thats all we can do.

As the article last week said, he is held together by tape. He just might be one of them guys who doesn't have a body that can take the strain of professional football.

yer i read that article about the tape...that wasnt a good sign, hopefully thats not the best they can do for him

Honestly I don't think he'll play midfield till mid-season at best.
I rate his potential as ridiculously large, but unless his body improves this year I dare say we have to let him go.

I could see still him being a handy forward pocket at half fit.

exactly, sylvia half fit is probably better than some of our players on our list atm, eg holland warnock maybe weetra jamar or paul johnson, i think these players along with the retirements of maybe nietz and yze may give sylvia another yr if his body breaks down again.

Do you think he'll get much of a run in the middle this year? Obviously you don't recruit a player at #3 in the draft to become a forward pocket. What exactly are we all expecting out of Sylvia this year? Can he turn it around?

I am a very good friend of col's from his home town and i was just with him on the weeknd.. geelong game: was his first hit out for the year thts the only reason he played half a game to get the cob webs out.. Wat u all probably dont know so u shouldn judge someone on weather they can be bothered is that this is col's first full pre season since he was drafted his program is stil modified but he's done jst about all the running and he's told me he's never felt better bodys feels good and its the first time hes been fit before a season.. the tape is the best thing thts ever happend to him because they have come to find his problem thru tht tape which is now solved.. he knows more than anyone tht the next couple years are going to determin his future and any footy player knows knowing tht is only gonna make u play better... he's fit strong and healthy and cant wait til it starts.. i think everyone is in for a suprise

Don't you worry mate, I've been backing him ever since he came to the club :thumbsu:.

I know the potential is there, he just needs to get fit.

And Fairley, I'd guess he'll pinch hit in the middle unless he gets to a fitness level suitable for midfield.

No need to get too upset there are plenty of us who rate Col. Also this was the hardest post to read I've ever seen here. :p
