I was looking at the Membership numbers, and started tot hink about are President.

What is everyones opinion on how he's faired so far?

Personally I thought he was a bit sluggish out of the blocks, but anyone who stands up to Carlton like that .. can't be at all bad.

Bottom Line, I'm coming around to him, even though he's not the club etc etc ...

BTW I voted for Joe, but y'know the clubs bigger than the man ...

I hope, however Flower starts doing more media and starts bashing heads and sticking up for the club...

Personally, I voted ror Szondy. I think he has done a fine job, and I was proud when he stood up for the club. Normally we wouldn't do that and we would be the easy beats, but not any more. Getting over the 20,000 mark is a good achievement, as there are Melbourne supporters who would probably not re-sign because Joe has gone.

So far, so good for Gabriel Szondy!

I was never against him from the start. He won fair and square and am pleased and relieved that so far, he's done a good job.

Been impressed actually with media coments by Corcoran and Anderson this year as well .. finally no easy beats...

Overall, I think he has been quite good. He has improved as he has become more used to the role.
Its nice to not be in the headlines for the wrong reasons for a change, something that always seemed to happen under the previous President.
Also, I think he has handled the Carlton issue very well.

Its also very nice to see that we still have 2 home games at Optus and are losing big money as a result of it.

I don't really know if they could do anything about that!

well, for some reason i was able to vote... they sent me the form thingy and everything, aswell as a letter saying they've included my vote (dunno why seeing that im under age  ). any ways, i voted for joe, and id still prefer to have him as our president, but i guess szondy is doing ok. i haven't heard much about it actually, so i guess no news is good news!

We had the oppurtunity to before the start of the season.

He said something along the lines of "It's best not to argue with the AFL, eventually things will even out. We shall be seen but not heard blah blah blah"

I dont mind Optus, but were losing big bucks when we really can't afford to and I dont think the board we have really know how to deal with the situation.

Szondy's doing OK, I voted for him though I've never been a huge fan of his.

Personally I'd prefer not to talk about the board at all this year if you don't mind. I will say however that it's a good achievement by the MFC to reach 20,000 again despite the Gutnick followers who haven't re-signed. They are within their rights of course & hopefully we can be a united club at some stage in the future.

Next topic :D.
