Any news on the takeover front? I would be very pleased if Old East and the Bulldogs got control of the dockers.
The are clearly problems at freo and I'm willing to see a change at the top in an attempt to improve things, if my opinion as a member is worth anything.

And when does this bloody Crawford report on WA footy come out, supposedly this report will solve all the problems we have at the moment.

rally

Racer X, did you hear about the rally before the Port Adelaide game in Fremantle?? Thats all Ive heard about the takeover bid recently.
I asked Dad if he thought it would be a good idea to go and he said probably not because what the fans are protesting for will most probably happen in the end. Apparently, there are 3 different groups of Dockers supporters wanting different things?!?

No, thats the first I've heard about a rally.

I'm would not be surprised if it is well attended. We are all dark about the onfield antics of our team.

Maybe some of the people will feel better about things after the rally - you know they may feel like they are doing their bit to help the club. Whether or not it will help is yet to be seen.

I'd be interested to know the differing views of the 3 factions you mentioned. Anyone know?

RacerX all we hear is the report will be out soon, but when ?who knows.
The rally is being run by people called THE FREO MOB[THE FREMANTLE MEMBERS' OWNED BOARD]
The rally is on july 8th at 11.00am at the Fremantle Esplanade.
The peple running theshow have not given their names but it will be interesting to see who the faceless people are.
I think we need something to happen very soon to let the creeps from the Commission know that we have had enough of the rubbish they are allowing to happen to OUR club without them doing something about it.
Wouldn't be suprised to see Gerard Neesham incolved.
I think the time to act is now.We can not afford to sit and wait and watch the Commissiob screw up even further.
I think the two local clubs should have a real say in the way the club is run and did so from day one.It has been a waste of talent left out of the running of OUR club.Regardless of which side of Freo you support both clubs should have had a member on the board.
LETS GET RID OF THE COMMISSION AND HAVE A REAL FOOTBAL CLUB.

I just read about the proposed rally in my local rag, quite interesting stuff actually. Basically they repeated what anchor man outlined in his post, but used a whole page to do it (tell me you are not one of the ringleaders anchor man).

Anyway, I reckon I might show my face at the rally. I support what they are trying to do in terms of restructuring the club from the top down. It may also be a good to be amongst the dockers faithful and have a laugh (god knows we need one).

Come on freo_fan, you know you want to come along.

Anyone else interested?

We're going. We know it probably wont make a difference but who knows.

By the way anchorman I took you're advice and emailed the club after they sacked Drum, as yet I haven't got a reply. I wasn't expecting a very good reply just one of those crappy thankyou for the critism kind of emails but they haven't even had the guts to reply!

keep punching

To RacerX no I am not one of the ring leaders, but I wish I were.
To Balip It is good that you took the time to write to the club and expressed you distaste at the way Drummy was sacked.Even though they have not replied in full it is still getting the message across to them that we are not happy. You are lucky I still am waiting for my reply.Mine may come in the form of a writ.I only hope the sewer rat who disclosed the information does try to does try something then I will be able to disclose to all and sundry who the Judas is.These are some of the terms I refered to him in my letter.
Also Balip be there at the rally as it will make a difference remember the rally when they wanted to move us to Subi or the WACA?That was people power at its best.Remember who won??? We did so to say we won't have any say is not true.
We must all get behind this rally and support the people who are trying to save our club.

sorry sorry sorry

Balip sorry I misread you post.Maybe they had too many letters to reply to.Sorry again,my concentration span gets less and less.

Racer X, im not sure if im going yet because i might be going to basils footy show wit dockerbabe but it isnt 100% certain yet, but thanks for the invitation ;)
I'll keep ya posted.

ARE YOU SERIOUS

Freo_Fan you surely must be joking.Going to the NOSES footy show or saving our footy club from a fate worse than death!!!!!

Rally?

Anchor man why so much passion for this rally?

Whilst in theory I think we should all voice our opinion on the need for accountability at the top, and voted in diorectors like any other football/business - no government appoointed fat cats, who are distanced to the reality of running a club I agree with whole heartedly!

However I am extremely dubios of a rally, with the people responsibile not even having the 'nuts' to come out and say who they are - it all reeks of unrest and diviseveness to me.

They may mean well, but public showss of unrest, doesnt support the club, it merely undermines it. To support the fremantle football club, that means supporting our players, and supporting our club, sure I do agree change must occur, and I encourage all members and true supporters to email the club and management venting, but for mine, public displays such as rallies are usually a self serving device, for whoever happens to actually own up at the rally as being behind it - no doubt they will wish to run the club or similar - grandstanding at it's very best.

I think I'll pass ...

Kuepper I can see where you are coming from but if the football club doesnt even have the common decency to reply to emails you send that what will that achieve?

I personally doubt that the rally will achieve a great deal but who knows. If 20,000 rocked up then they would have to listen.

Everyone seems to be waiting on yet another report commisioned by the cronies at the top. I suppose we will just have to wait and see what that achieves.

i have decided to skip basil's footy show and show my support i mean i'd rather be supportuing my team down in freo rather than going to a tv show

besides the last rally that was held i really wanted to go to but an unfortunate accident at netball that morning saw me sitting at home doing nothing productive so i'll be there

passion for my club

Kuepper my sole reason is that I have a passion for my club and for football in general. That is my reason for my passion. If we had all stood by and let the Commission have their way we would be playing and training at the WACA ground.
We can't have the politically appointed Commission dictating terms to our football clubs[yes clubs]because the Eagles are in the same position as us.The only difference is that they have football people in charge.
I agree that those concerned should have had the balls to say who they are,but maybe there is a method in there madness.Never let the left hand know what the right hand is doing.
Unfortunately Kuipper I must say that there is not much in your post that I do agree with.I believe it to be a very negative post.Rallys do work as I said we would be the WESTERN WACAS now if it had not been for people power.
Dockerbabe well done, glad to see you have got your priorities right.
Balip you seem to be a good supporter of the Dockers make time to be there and give support to the people concerned. At least give them the time to find out what they are about.

Anchor man, you still havent explained to me the purpose of the rally ... you seem quite pasionate in your support of the club which is great - but we need focus here!

Who is running it?

What is the point?

I am not negative, far from it, I am a true believer - but seriously, I support my club, and going to a rally, where the people who are running it dont even name themselves - jesus man it could well be a channel nince/Sam Newman-esque prank for all you or anyone knows, yet we all march along as it is seen to be doing something.

I for one will be, as I always have, be going to Subi, and supporting my team, not going to a rally to support god knows what, as it seems like peoples are getting away with themselves here.

I may be a cynic, and am happy to be proven wrong if this rally of unnamed people turns out to be something worth supporting, well lord knwos i am in - in the meantime, ill worry about things like the actual football, and winning agmes, before i worry and waste my time worrying about the football commission et al (btw, i notice when the teams are winning, doesnt seem to be such a problem the commission now does it?)

Let maintain the focus, and worry about cheering the palyers, and winning some games!

still go

Kuepper you can still go to the game. The rally is at 11am,I am not sure of the starting time for the game but I could not see them running the rally and not allowing the supporters and members time to get to see our team play.
What harm can it do by going along?I realise that you have the passion as I do so go along and see what these people have to say.
I'll see you there!!!!!!?????

the mob

To all concerned just been in on dockerland.com and one of the posters said you can get info on the MOB onwww.freomob.com
Haven't been there myself but will have a look.

I checked out the www.freomob.com site (thanks anchor man). I must say I was impressed by the site, it is well put together and you already know I agree with their aims and intents. The claim to be getting an online petition by today - its not there yet so I could not sign it but I will keep checking.

I have also been doing my own canvassing for the MOB and have managed to get all my mates to attend including an eagles supporter. Hopefully there will be a good turn out.

Kuepper - its fine to be cynical about things, I'm cynical about being able to help the dockers by going to games and yelling loudly as you suggested. The club does not have in place any means for change from within, if the only way members can effect change is by rallying then there is clearly a problem at the club.
Perhaps you should check the site out and make a second opinion.

Good luck in the battle Freo supporters....as someone who has been through something even worse (the failed merger with Melbourne) I can assure it's worth fighting tooth & nail to ensure you have control of YOUR club.

Victorian supporters such as myself think it's a disgrace that Freo isn't run by its members, and until they are, the club will continue to lack respect on and off the field.

I signed the petition - you should put the website on the main AFL page and get others to sign it - I'm sure quite a few people would.

become a MOB member

I went to the meeting the MOB held at the Orient Hotel last night [Wednesday]not knowing what to expest and came away pleasantly suprised.Thes are ordinary every day people who want the best for our club.No big business men no Gerard Neesham no big names that I could make out just run of the mill people. All they want is for us the members of the Fremantle football club to have the right to elect our board members. To br run like fourteen other clubs in the competition.
To those Eagle supporters who come in to our site for a squizzy be at the rally as this applies to your club as much as ours.Come along with your colours on we will welcome you as e will our own supporters.Help us to help you.
Alredy they appear to have had some success, meeting with the minister and gaining his support. It appears that they have the support of both sides of parliament.Every one wants the change but the COMMISSION so by people power we can get the message to them,we want a say on the election of our board.
That is their sole intention to make sure the members of our club have a say in the election of the board for the FREMANTLE FOOTBALL CLUB.
Become a member of the MOB it costs nothing to join just your love and passion for the FREMANTLE FOOTBALL CLUB.
Most importantly to be a member we need you attendance at the rally,if you are there you can say you are a member of the MOB.
