Hello southern cousins. I got a big anniversary coming up in November and I'm thinking of booking in to a hotel in Hobart with the hope of seeing the Southern Lights (aurora australis). Any info on Hotels that are set up for veiwing Aurora Australis and even info on the frequency that they occur would be great.

Cheers TT.

............... are kinda like slightly more intelligent West Australians
Big Call, but coming from a South Australian I probably shouldn't say anything...

Couldn't find much more than that. You can view them from many lookout points, the interwebs recommend going up to Mount Wellington to view them.

Cheers pal, found this bit of info

"One can only observe auroral displays at the South Pole during the six months from March to Septemer; the rest of year the Pole experiences 24 hours of sunlight."

If this is true it buggers me up for November. :(
