Team Vs Melbourne

That is going pretty tall though. Hurley would have to come in for a midfielder.
It's no different from any team that has two key backs and two ruckman. Which is most; ironically Collingwood is one of the few that rarely has a second ruckman to support Fraser.

Yeah true Whomb. I think the Essendon team sheet often tells it like it is, been noticing it a bit in recent weeks. This suggests a little bit that Monfries and Lonergan are the last picked atm, with Dyson, Hocking and Skipworth as good as cemented.

will we have Hocking running with Sylvia?

Gary O'Donnell (GOD!) has said that Andy Welsh could spend some time on Sylvia, so maybe both he and Hocking?

...and this week's team is looking very nice! Great to see Welsh and Fletch back.
Barring any major injuries, this current team should get stronger every week. *Licks lips and drools*

You are forgetting that we also have another key back in addition to Pears and Hurley.

His name is Dustin Fletcher :)

I read somewhere that he is a bit of alright and might get a game this week. :p

Neagle shouldnt be out, how bloody stupid is that. We have got to be ready when lloydy is done and Neagle is his replacement. Needs as many games as he can get.

Just wondering, How many goal has Neagle kicked this year??

Yeah he was great wasnt he. 3 possesions and his opponent had 15, what position does he play again? And add that to his 4 possesion game against Richmond and we can pencil his name on the Coleman Medal.

Great to see Welshy back in! We all knew people were gonna have to make way when we had 5-6 guys returning from injury. I expect this to make the competition for spots even more fierce than it has been. Apart from big Hille, this would nearly be our best 22?

Only ruckman now. Theyre in an even worse ruck position than we are. Who's going to be their second ruckman? Jurrah?

I would think that Stephan Martin would be the obvious choice but this will only play into our hands because they are already spread very thin down back with injuries to key defenders. As it stands i can't see Martin and Rivers stopping Lloyd and Lucas and if Martin has to spend time in the ruck it could get ugly for them. It will be a case of robbing Peter to pay Paul. Get on Lloyd most goals for the round (list of about 8 players) $8.00

I know you are just messing around but obviously Fletcher will take the 3rd tall and can also play on smaller more agile players if required. Fletcher offeres a lot of flexibility to the team. Whomb is correct in saying that Hooker will basically be taking Bellchambers (or a second Ruckman) role so i don't see any problem at all.

Pears - 1st/2nd tall forward
Hurley - 1st/2nd tall forward
Fletcher - 3rd tall forward or small
Hooker - Ruckman/Back/forward (Utility)

I could be wrong but i believe it was you who said something about how you believe Hooker will surprise a lot of people in the Ruck if he gets the chance to be the backup ruckman? I totally agree. I think he has a lot of potential in this position and he offers plenty of run and mobility. Pretty handy leap on him also. :thumbsu:

that's mighty hard to pick right now, being that we have seen about 100minutes of football from Hurley at this stage.

And from what i've seen of Pears i am very confident that he will be a gun defender for us for a very long time.

It woukd just be splitting hairs trying to predict who is going to be better long terms.

I think we have a couple of gun long term defender on our hands with these two. And they can both kick the footy!!!!!!!!!!!

I wasn't trying to say anything against Hurley, but I have big expectations with Pears.

Regarding the Fletcher inclusion and Neagle out, will this mean that Hooker will be playing ruck instead of Lucas?

Don't worry i wouldn't be surprised either. :thumbsu:

I think you can bet your house on Hooker playing ruck instead of Lucas.

That has gone into the 'tried and failed' basket methinks.
