Good work Gaso, this topic does deserve its own thread. TED talks are imo one of the surprisingly few things one can point to and say, 'See? Web 2.0 can be a good thing'.

I love TED so much but am entirely disappointed they banned Graham Hancock's talk on the "war on consciousness" - the banning of his talk proved everything that he was saying.

What i find astounding is that TED should be beyond this. V disappoint.

They were right. TED was meant to be for science or technology, not woo and new age bullshit. If Hancock gets his theories tested and validated there's no problem.

Anyone with common sense knows you can't test common sense. If someone with uncommon sense writes the test for common sense (as currently is the modern educations systems way) then you can't validate it, as it wouldn't be common, being uncommon.

I watched a few in some of my lectures last year, didn't mind them. There can be some seriously boring ones, but then you get the gems.
