Walked past a booth in the middle of the mall at Chadstone today where you pay up and sit in a booth for a while to have the bright lights shone on your chompers.

Got me thinking - how does it actually work? Can anyone explain it?

Along with braces, the ease and cheapness of teeth whitening et al is a real kick to the pricks born with good teeth. Most attributes you can't emulate or improve on... ****in teeth though. You might as well be born with shit ones because you can end up with perfect ones by 20. Unfair.

Got a mate who's wife is making him do it for their wedding. Has to go a few times, they put some gel shit on his teeth and he puts them under the light.

Just wondering how it supposedly works.

Funnily enough, I just bought that whitening mouth wash yesterday.
No idea if it works, but considering I drink long blacks a lot if it helps keep that stain away I'm happy.

My teeth are usually pretty white but it was on special.

teeth that are too white are unattractive. Too perfect in general just looks wrong. Don't they have that thing in Japan where you actually pay to get your teeth manked up?

Not sure if it's the same thing as what you sometimes see over here, but if it's the one where they apply a gel and then expose the teeth to led light, it's the gel that does the whitening, the light supposedly accelerates the process, but I read somewhere that they did a trial with a control group that just got the gel and another that had the interrogation lights shone in them and there was no significant difference in outcomes.

When it comes to whiter teeth, even those with a flawless oral hygiene routine will suffer from some level of discoloration eventually. I get to do teeth whitening once in every two or three months from a dental clinic in Burlington just to remove the stains from within the tooth that cause discoloration.
