Not quite hiking related but I'm hoping for some advice.
I'm thinking of buying a personal locator beacon (PLB) for my old man, he spends a fair bit of time on the farm in the relative middle of nowhere, working with machinery etc. and I want something better than a phone that may or may not have service/battery.
I suppose not being located in an obvious wilderness area, would such a device still be useful? And can anyone offer recommendations?
