Apart from the state and national competitions, which are up and running, is getting the rights off of murdoch, and finding a cheap broadcaster who will put it on air each week during the AFL seasone. Make no mistake about it people will see it in america no matter what channel it is on, and that recognition will have a trickel down effect. Without it (air time ) our future in The us of a is doomed.
PS. I read recently that the US networks were looking for a cheap entertaining alternative to Gridiorn, and I think that some really rich ****, or a conglomerate of rich ****s ahould gett to gether and form an american leauge with a few guys who didn't get drafted in the american football league.

I wouldn't got that far.

Though, I agree it'd be a huge bonus - provided any broadcasting was in conjunction with the occasional USFooty ad such as that which you can see on a few of the club sites, which used to run on Fox Sports World.

What was being discussed at one stage was clubs/leagues putting together footage from their own matches and distributing it.

Even if it was on crappy local public access channels people would see it - and it does, as said trickle down.

The trouble with saying 'let's build a pro league from scratch' is that nobody, reagardless how rich you are, is going to put up the cash for a game that next to no one has heard of. The amount of money you'd have to spend on advertising alone would be enormous - plus try getting corporate sponsorship to an unknown game in the USA.

Juan, I once shared this opinion. I would suggest you try it before you knock it. You may find it unbearable to watch your beloved gridiron between whistles, yellow flags and video review.

Remember Juan,NFL was born out of RUGBY.
Rugby was considered America's football before the rules/positions were changed.
I appreciate NFL,watch it quite often.
Probably one of the slowest games to watch.
NFL is more like watching a military procedure in progress than a sporting match.
Every player has a specialised skill/postion......not to mention we have to take time-outs so the coach can tell his men WHAT TO DO!!!
