Have not come across a thread related to having the odd bet, and more to the point outlaying a few dollars on those in the blue and white hoops.

As the season draws closer I'd be interested to know where the 'smart' money on this board is heading, or who has been prepared to put their money where their mouth is.

Thanks to the vfl boys ive still got a little kicking around in the account from last year, and for the hell of it just threw a fiver on a Geelong top 8- Hawkins Coleman-Selwood Brownlow multi to pick up just under 2 grand. Got to be in it to win it

And I'm sure there's a good story or two from years gone by..

09 I had $500 on Geelong premiers into Ablett Brownlow.

I outlaid when Carlton (I think)beat Geelong and they drifted a little.

Its amazing some of those bets they come up with -the best successful one i saw involving Geelong was in 2011 against Carlton -someone had $300 at 26 to 1 that the scores would be level at half time

With less than 40 seconds to go to half time Hawkins got a miracle goal -Guigan and another Carlton bloke had an aurgument after that. The ball was then bounced -Carlton had a flying kick for goal -Harry Taylor marked the ball with every part of his body over the goal line -except his hands -all the umpires had their conference -and it was decided it wasnt a score -so the scores were level at half time -and the punter collected -Talk about Lucky

I pretty much stopped betting after 08.
I hardly bet before it, and had what should have been a 30k year. Ended up 15.
Had $200 on games in week one of 09 and realised the game had changed too much for me. Reckon I've had $150 in bets since.

Kind of proud of myself really.

Remember reading there was a multi in 2007 tying Geel to win the flag, brownlow, rising star and vfl flag in the one year which apparently a lot of geelong supporters were on.

Anyone here on that? Think it was paying about 90 to 1

Very seldom bet but was driving home in 07 and heard a Brownlow promo and thought of Jimmy - laid out $200 @ 9/1
Helped pay for 2 premium packages to the GF to see the 44 year drought well and truly broken.
