A farmer has 16 pigs, 19 sheep and 7 goats.

Q - How many dogs does he have?

No idea Rusty, but here's one in response (not meaning to take away from yours, I just cant figure it out!)

Three men went to a motel. The motel manager said a room cost $30, so each man put up $10 and went to their room. A little while later the manager realized the room was only $25, so he sent the bellhop back to the three guys' room with $5. On the way to the room the bellhop couldn't figure out how to split the $5 between the 3 men, so he gave each one of them $1 and he kept the other $2.

This meant that the 3 men paid $9 each for the room for a total of $27. Add the $2 that the bellhop kept = $29.

Where did the other dollar go?

I remember doing this around 4 years back in maths when i was in yr 8. I can remember it has to do with adding and subtracting at the wrong to mess the numbers around and to mess with your mind.
There isnt a missing dollar as the guys did pay $25 for the room so add on the $3 they got back which is $28 + the bellhop's $2 and theres ya $30. I think thats how it goes:thumbsu:

An oldie but a goodie:

There are two doors - one leads to certain death, the other to freedom, wealth, happiness and the drafting of Hodge. Each door is guarded by a guard. One guard ALWAYS tells the truth, the other ALWAYS tells a lie. You don't know which is which.

You may ask ONE guard ONE question to determine which door to open.

What do you ask?

Hmmm

I would ask 1 guard "what would the other guard say is the door to freedom?"

The guard who lies will answer the "other door" or the death door... because he lies.

The truthful guard will answer what he believes the guard who lies will answer.... "what would the other guard say is the door to freedom?" The result would be two answers for 1 door.

Therefore you take the door NOT recommended by either guard.

My first reaction is WAR - but some politicians seem to want that...

Along the same lines - A FIGHT WITH CANCER would fit the bill, but I doubt it's what you had in mind.

Good answers but not the one im looking for. More a personal type thing.

The white answer is in the question.
