The boredom is getting to them lol.:)
Titans circle fed-up Rogers

By Dean Ritchie
December 01, 2006 GOLD Coast Titans are ready to launch an audacious bid to sign Mat Rogers for next year - and the club can pay him up to $200,000 for the season.
Rogers is believed to be ready to walk away from rugby union, disillusioned and bored with the game.
The Australian Rugby Union last night declared that it would contact the star back in a bid to sort out any problems he may have and ensure he stays in the code until after the 2007 Rugby World Cup.
Rogers has signed a two-year deal with the Titans starting in 2008.
Gold Coast managing director Michael Searle would not reveal how much money the Titans still have to move under their salary cap, but it is understood to be about $200,000.
"We could fit him in," Searle said.
"It has come as a shock (that Rogers is planning a switch to rugby league) but he can help our situation and we'd love to have him."
Titans coach John Cartwright backed Searle's stance.
"If rugby union was happy and Mat was happy, then yes we would love to see him here next season," Cartwright said.
"We could be left short if Steve Turner doesn't come."
Cartwright flies to Sydney today to play in Rogers' charity golf day at Camden.
The ARU has received no requests from Rogers seeking a release.
"We will have a talk to Mat to clarify any problems and ensure he wants to be part of the World Cup program," ARU chief executive Gary Flowers.

Why not sign him. At least there paying for a player who is willing to play for them.

He looks out of his depth in union and he could be a handy player on the wing for the Titans. It would be good to have him available for the Maroons next year to add some depth in selections

How can you say he "looks out of his depth" the guy's played nearly 50 tests for the Wallabies. A year or so ago the Rah Rah's were creaming themselves over him.

If anyone thinks these guys would walk back into the SOO or International sides, they have rocks in their head.

It will take them 12 months to get back up to the fitness levels required.

LOL... Funny stuff mate.

Rogers readies for Titanic struggle

COLD-FOOTED Australia star Mat Rogers last night kept rugby union officials guessing by refusing to dispel speculation he will seek an immediate release to return to the NRL.
And according to fellow dual international Wendell Sailor, the prolonged imbroglio surrounding Rogers' future is a "kick in the guts for rugby union".
After agreeing to join Gold Coast Titans in 2008, Rogers is now eyeing a premature switch in time for the club's NRL debut in March.
The 31-year-old this week returned from the Wallabies' underwhelming European tour publicly fed up with the limited opportunities he has been getting at five-eighth.
When approached yesterday at a golf day to honour his deceased parents Carol and Steve, Rogers declined to clarify his future.
"I'm not going to even take any questions," he said. "This has sort of hit me from left field as much as anything else.
"I just want to play golf and enjoy the day."
Rogers then walked across the practice green at Camden Lakeside golf course to greet four Titans staff, including coach John Cartwright and CEO Michael Searle, whom he invited to the annual event.
ARL coach Ricky Stuart was also present.
Searle last night maintained the Titans could afford to pay Rogers $200,000 to begin his stint on the holiday strip a year ahead of schedule.
"We just had a quick hello, at this stage we haven't had a chance to talk," Searle said.
"If it happens today it happens. I don't think it really matters. Mat knows our intention. If he's released we'll talk, until that's done there's no need for us to have a discussion."
Complicating an exit route for Rogers is the fact he is contracted to both the ARU and NSW Waratahs.
While Wallabies boss John Connolly last night insisted Rogers was obliged to fulfil the final year of his contract, NSW coach Ewan McKenzie left the door slightly ajar.
"I'm not going to say we don't release players under any circumstances," McKenzie told The Saturday Daily Telegraph. "This is not something you do every day.
"You've got to take all their personal circumstances into account.
"But generally speaking, when there's a contract in place you don't like to release them."
McKenzie tried unsuccessfully to speak with Rogers yesterday morning and was disappointed his star utility did not quell the innuendo.
"It might have been useful if he had clarified his position. You want to get a definitive statement and then move on," he said.
Sailor, who joined Rogers in switching codes five years ago, said the fact both Rogers and fellow Queensland convert Lote Tuqiri were contemplating early returns to the NRL proved "league has put the gap on union."
"It's a little bit of a kick in the guts for rugby union," Sailor said.
"These players are missing having an impact.
"At the moment the Wallabies are playing a forward-based game and backs like Lote and Mat are not getting enough ball."

Craig Gower looks like he wants out as well.

CRAIG Gower's future as a rugby union player has escalated into a reality with the former Test halfback revealing he's just returned from a 10-day training stint with a French rugby club.
The former Penrith captain's impending switch to the rival code is the latest development in an already furious cross-code war.
As Wallaby star Mat Rogers prepares to walk out on his $500,000 Australian Rugby Union contract to join the Gold Coast Titans – Gower admitted he was a step closer to finishing his career in rugby.
"I went over to have a look at a union club. The opportunity was there, so I had to go and explore it," he said.
"I had a good time, I spent 10 days there. I attended some training sessions and I quietly enjoyed it."
Gower said his interest in joining rugby was more than a whim. He trained with a Heinekin Cup club at five-eighth during his brief stint. "I didn't like nine too much," he said. "At 10 you've got the ball in your hands and you get to play a bit of footy, which is good.
"Hopefully this will open doors for me . . . you can't play rugby league forever."

I'm quite p'd off about this, why didn't he go to a Rugby X111 side and do some training and give the game over there a bit of a lift?

Bloody selfish prick.

He doesn't play the game, he's never said anything about it before and he trains with a French mob, ffs, I might hate Union, but why would he turn his back on Australia when it's clear, Union needs all the help out here it can get.

I seen some of the French League fans talking about this, they can't understand why he would train with a union side and not help out the code that gave him fortune and fame, I'm getting sick of these overpaid pansies whoring themselves to the biggest bidder.

Gower, Go F**K yourself and break a leg, literally.
