....To win the Grand Final you need to be the toughest team, both mentally and physically, in the competion. And Brisbane is clearly that. In fact, in their three-year run they have lost only one final, to Collingwood this year.
The Lions continue to push the envelope when it comes to their preparation - intravenous drips, hypoxicators, extensive pain-killing injections, cool rooms, hyperbaric chambers, even low-altitude planes.
Some of these have subsequently been ruled illegal by the AFL but the quest to be No. 1 is clearly shared right throughout the Brisbane organisation and can only be applauded.
That they are out of town probably allows them to conduct these experiments behind closed doors. That they keep winning justifies them. Collingwood couldn't even have three days off on an island without newspaper reporters and photographers crashing the camp. ....

Typical back-handed complement from Eddie.

Translation:

"Bugger me, those Lions are good.

We'd like to be as good as them but NOT by cheating like they do. What's more, they get away with it because up there in Queensland behind the Iron Curtain, no-one has got a clue what they're up to with their "experiments".

For all we know, they could be genetically modifying their players and turning them into a race of Super-footballers.

Dirty guys.

Despite all their underhanded and downright cheating, we would still have won the Grand Final had it not been for the media hounding our poor little players while they were tring to get a bit of R&R for a few days.

Oh, the price you have to pay for being the best and most popular footy club in Australia"

Wierd how the salary cap concessions don't seem to be on Eddie's agenda any more.

Still, I guess he got what he wanted there anyway.
