glad he is still around
is a good player doesn't get alot of touches but does a job

think he wanted to leave so he could finally kick his first afl goal :)

Oh well with Will staying the comp for a position down back is going to be interesting if a few of the young guys step up next year. How often do you see clubs chasing full backs during the draft period now days though? Not really suprised no one took him.

Glad we still have Thursty. There's no rule to say a full back has to provide run out of defence. There's probably only 2 or 3 full backs in the league who do. He just needs to concentrate on getting himself to about 95kg. He should have every chance to be picked in the team every week. There's no reason why Gourdis should be picked ahead of him. Thursty, Mcguane, Astbury and Gourdis should be equal chance at taking 3 spots in the team on a weekly basis. It's not often he has a bag kicked on him. Gourdis and Grimes got their taste for afl late in the season, but they shouldn't expect to play every week. Grimes really should be kept at Coburg next season and given the occasional game. He needs a good 10kg +.

Yeah, just look at Scarlett & Lake - two stoppers who provide no value to counter-attack. Oh, hang on...

Fact is Thursty is dining out on a handful of good games, stopping Reiwoldt here and there, but is just a list clogger. In today's footy, we need run and attack, as well as defense.

fact is thursty's a terrific full back.. the best on our list as of now. hes the complete mould of presti from collingwood who gets the wraps he rightedly deserves..

by the way, matty scarlett is a weaker defender than thursty. scarlett never plays on the oppositions FF. i'll stand by this. scarlett gets jizzed over because he's such a good attacker. defence wise, he's not as good as whats made out to be

Outside a handful of genuine stars, that statement could have been applied to every player on our list and in a way it was highlighted when news of the Collins trade started to surface. The way posters reacted it was like we had traded away a multiple B&F winner.

upside rt upside. ollins has plenty wil does not im sure you can see the difference.

Thursty is a better player than is being suggested here. I seem to recall a lot of diatribe directed at Tuck supporters when a deal couldn't be done last year. Funny how that panned out...

shane tuck is still a very limited player despite performing to an acceptable standard at times this yr.
if we had enough big bodies i wouldnt bother with trying to trade him, we know what everyone else thinks id just delist him. alas atm he has a role to play. i reckon if bigger framed boys like orielly and dea can take a step up and the addition of grigg tuck and the other mediocre one in jackson will be in trouble.

When was the last time a FF kicked a big bag of goals on Will?

As you say limited player but performs at an acceptable level.

sheesh i thought that quote mentioned tuck. wait a minute it did. lol.

on your comments clearly nearly every other club and even hardwick dont think thursfield performs at an acceptable level. its this over rating of our players that this thread is about.

i tell ya what wil gets beaten often enough and to make matters worse hes as soft as butter. the scary thing in all this i reckon hes a better player than mcguane, and possibly rance who i wont right of just yet.

Awsome news he has decided to stay. Whether he plays 10 games or 20 next year he'll deserve all of them and play some really good footy.

Great player and the best of our backs.
