Why do so many people think we'll take Franklin ahead of Roughead? As they seem to be rated at around the same level I would prefer to take the local boy in Roughead ahead of the risk of homsickness from a WA boy.

Besides, the name 'Roughead' seems so much suited to Richmond!

I'l probably cop alot for this, but i'm convinced Hawthorn want either Deledio or Griffen. Also i think that Franklin will slip lower than alot of people think.

With Roughead being compared to Chris Grant by some i reckon we should be drafting him at no 3. It would change the whole top order of the draft and could really go against what Richmond and the Hawks will be expecting.
Roughead would be a safe bet and is excactly what we need at the Bulldogs.
Clayton has already seen the kid and is a big rap.

From what I have seen, read and heard, the Hawks should not bother with Willits at pick 26 let alone pick 7. Being compared to a mix between Leigh Brown and Ben Holland was enough for me to say no thanks!
The Hawks should take the BEST player avaliable with the first 3 picks in the draft, regardless of position.
If I was in charge, the draft from Hawthorn's perspective would look a little like this:

1. Deledio
2. Tambling
3. Griffen
4. Franklin
5. Roughead
6. Wood
7. Monfries

Sorry, as a Hawthorn supporter, i had to add pick 7 in there!

I really don't think you'll risk taking Monfries, He'll go to the crows as they say

He might still end up at the Dogs but to me he is a less athletic version of Trent Croad.

Deledio is certain. Griffen and Tambling, I wouldn't mind hawthorn picking up either but I'm leaning towards Griffen. Richmond wouldn't pass on franklin at 4, he's had loads of raps on him lately, I hope he's there at 5 but he's too good to let slip to 5, doggies might even get him at 3. Wood at 6, best ruckman, dogs will go for him i believe. and i'd like to see monfries at 7, not a ruckman please hawthorn, try to get blake or knobel in PSD would be heaps better option.

Richmond are rebuilding and need the best available talent. Hawthorne need a quality midfielder and a ruckman. Us doggies need KPP

on what planet? you would be better off drafting Johny softkock IMO.

but anyway, why does everyone think the dogs will go for a ruckman with their second pick? We have minson coming through at age 19, and we used a 2nd round pick last year on the 24yo peter street, plus darce has 2 or 3 years left.

That should be enough to ensure we can comfortably use a late pick on a project ruck if we feel we have to have another one in the system.

We will target the best KPP available with our second pick, unless one of the top 3 midfielders falls through.
