Just entered my 3rd tournament and somehow won it.

Came 1st out of 116 players and won $348 USD (it was $10+$1 to enter).

What tournament wins have people on here had?

Nice effort, always feels good after a good win like that. I've won 2 $5 turneys beating 70 and 69 people. I only won USD260 for both of them though but these wins allowed me to move up a level.

I've only managed a couple 2nds in Omaha and a 4th in Omaha 8OB.

Hopefully when I get back into it, I'll have some more success, but I'm yet to play regularly over any period of time (too busy posting on BigFooty :D). So while I haven't played a lot of tournaments, my ROI is ok.

If you're any good at poker (and from what I've read you seem to be), you will be infinitely better than any of the other players in the Razz section. Once you get the rules and basic strategy down, you can just play basic A-B-C poker and crush the plebs that have no idea.

I won the World Series, but that's next year. Oh, the 50k HORSE too :D

Didn't realize you played Razz, R+B. ;)

As Friz said, Razz is easy once you get it down. It becomes very mechanical once you get it. Every game in HORSE plays differently, so my advice would be to just practice some when you have the chance.

For example, a common flaw I see in HORSE are players playing Stud8 like Stud, or Omaha8 like Hold'em.

placed in a freeroll which gave me enough to enter a 1.00 +10 tourni ( hey big spender:D ) which I won, then used that to enter a $2+whatever which i won...more $1 (probably 2 or 3) where i placed or won. $10 tourni and a couple of $1 where i lost and am currently around $20-25 from starting with nothing.

Im fairly new to the game so play rather tight but am going to see how far the $20-$25 can take me:thumbsu:

Won a freeroll on Party last year which had a $25k prizepool for $4.6k US (split with 2nd place when heads-up). My biggest by a fair way :D :D

Sh i t !

Thats mammoth - winning a freeroll like that !! well done divvydan

i find the freerolls harder to play because donkeys call all over the place and hit crazy cards and win pots they had no right to be in - all because they aren't going to lose anything

I dont bother with freerolls much i think they tend to encourage bad play and introduce bad habits

Yeah, freerolls are crazy places.
This one had a minimum hand qualification from the previous 24hrs. Which meant i had to play (i think) 400 raked hands to qualify for it and there were just under 800 players.
I guess the good thing about the hand requirement is that some of the crazier freerollers weren't in it.
Oh, and i got seriously seriously lucky!!!! :p

My biggest scores have been $3.2k in a $33 tournament on Stars and $2.6k in a freeroll on Full Tilt. I didn't actually win either of those tournies (3rd and 2nd).

I've won three tourns in my life, a fair while ago when I used to play the odd tourn every now and then, hardly ever do anymore. My first was a $5 PLO for a few hundred. Then I won a 200-man $10 NLHE for just under 1k, and finally another PLO tourn with a $10 buy-in.

I just find tournaments so frustrating so hardly play them anymore. I usually just play the big freerolls now. Aussie Millions sat tonight. 18k package on the line. COME ON!

SPEW! Finished 270th out of 2.5k entrants. Only 7 packages.

Standard tourn finish, JJ v AK, spikes A on turn, I cry.

Have won one Pokerstars $10 entry MTT (500 entrants) - 1st prize $1300 USD(from memory).
Have made a couple of final tables in the same format at Stars.

Biggest has been a 21st finish in the $1,000,000 guaranteed Stars tournalment ($200 entry) that occurs every Monday morning.
Think that was about $2500 USD collect.

Haven't played the tournys for a while now but will start getting back into it as there is one $10 MTT that starts at 7.00pm every night. Pre daylight savings it started at 5pm so couldn't play.

Entered my 4th tournament last night and won it with 264 entrants. I cane from 43rd out of 46 to end up winning. Took 4 and a bit hours. I played crap until the very last hr were I hit everything. 9 2 and 9 3 were givin me full houses at the end

I just had my biggest win yet, a modest $331.50 for winning a $5.50 rebuy. It's all the more more sweet because it all started out with 21 cents I won from a freeroll! :)

I've got a chance to go back to back, 6 players left and I have a small chip lead.
Edit: That'll teach me to get ahead of myself I'm coming 4th of 5 now.
Wel not a win but $196 and second place is very nice.

did both of these wins come on Bugsy's?

Well done!

Thanks mate. Yeah I'm just so used to the site now that I don't feel comfortable anywhere else, but I do need somewhere that has traffic after 7pm. Any ideas?

Guys your wins have inspired me to have a go at a few of the tourneys... I'm put off by them because on the multi-tables I figure if I win then I'll be on the computer for hours until it finishes right? or worse yet they schedule times later on that I cant make because I either work or its 3am in the morning because they run US time.
