Hi all,

Am trying to help a friend of mine track down her biological parents but sadly we've no idea where to start?

She was adopted out in the early 70's (1973?) in NSW. Would anyone have any experience in locating or searching for something like this? Who to contact? Where to begin? Resources available?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

One thing to remember is the parents may not want to be contacted or she was adopted out because of violence or neglect, and you may be getting in the middle of something nasty.

Yeah thanks Hairy.
It'll be up to her if she wants to pursue this further should there be anything like that uncovered. From talking with her adoptive father there wasn't any of that going on that related to her so we should be good.

If she gets the ball rolling, they then approach the biological mother/father to see if they want to make contact.

Ive seen it from the other end
