Here is where we stand regarding players posters on this board were interested in getting/putting up for trade(gathered from the papers):
-Judd is out of the picture, deal is expected to get signed off on today. Looks like it is either Cotchin or C.Morton in the National draft.

- Pick 19 to WC for 30 and M.Morton is all but signed.

- Meyer wants to go to the Hawks, we have put forward about 7 names we're after. Hawks considering the offer.

- Schulz is probably off to Port for a pick. That pick is possibly then heading to the Dogs for McMahon.

- We are not in the hunt for Moran at present. Still a possibility we could gain him in the PSD as no club has put up a serious offer, he is meeting with the Crows though.

-Wood has been secured by the Pies for their first round pick according to reports as well so cross him off the wish list.

- Hooper is likely to stay in Brisbane.

Some other interesting tidbits:

- Brennan & Selwood from the Lions are out of contract and the Lions can't supply a decent offer yet we were chasing Hooper. Word is the Dons are trying to get Brennan into the PSD. If either ends up their would I be alone in hoping we take one of them.

- Hahn is out of contract at the Dogs as well.

-Meesen to Melbourne for pick 37, gee would pick 35 be that hard to give up to get a ruckman.

Ok here's my take on it all:

Judd goes to Blues for an offer we all new would happen, therefore we didnt have any influence.

Cotchin >>> Morton, but we'll select Morton

Pick 19 >>> Morton + 30

Schulz = average >>> McMahon

Moran = pile of shit

Pies and Dees get players we should have been targeting

Meyer should be persevered with

No one wants to come to us via PSD, anyone that does is shit.

All up... Miller's either done nothing, followed wrong leads or has absolutely no influence when it comes to attracting talent. We're ****ed.

I think we need to change the trade system.

I reckon you get every club to list the players they are willing to trade, then you rank every player on a points basis and list them up on the wall.

Then you get the football manager from each club to nominate who they want. Then you put gloves on each of the football managers and they get to fight the other manager for the player. I reckon when it gets to the top 5 players, the football managers have to go bareknuckle.

I reckon it'd rate higher than the finals. ;)

.

Not for 300$K a season for 3 years.. Rather pursue Rhan

Well it seems that Rhan has no interest in coming to Richmond despite our best efforts.

BLOODY HELL!!! Looks like we're going to lose 2 top 20 picks for McMahon and Morton. McMahon for pick 19:eek:, and offering him a 3 year MILLION dollar contract:eek:

Morton I thought would of been a 3rd rounder, he's done as much as Meyer for West Coast though I do rate him way over Meyer, but still, we can't forfeit both picks 18 and 19!

I reckon the Morton trade has to involve Meyer!
Meyer to Hawthorn.
Hawthorn give their 3rd rounder to West Coast.
We get Morton.

Well thats what we're offering McMohan who will be pretty much 25 by the start of next year and clearly can't develop any weight being 185cm and only 78kg considering he has been in the system for 6 or so years

Brennan has played 50 odd games in five seasons and only a handful where he's contributed.

No thanks at that cost.

You know what you get with McMahon.. He can hit targets as a defensive sweeper something that Andrew Raines fails to do.

BTW What's this obsession with weight???

McMohan is almost 25 and therfore most of his development is over. Raines is alot younger and has more courage and passion in his little finger then McMohan does in his entire body

McMohan is a defensive sweeper because he can't get a kick in the midfield. IMO, Raines will also turn out to be a pretty solid accountable defender while McMohan will run of his man and get goals kicked of him every week.

As for Brennan, he too is younger then McMohan and is a big bodied KPP with the ability to play at either end of the ground which is what we are crying out for. Brennan also had a break through year this year and will be much better next year, while McMohan has been getting his cheap 19 positions a game for the past 3 years

Spot on. Turnovers killed us last year, and that's something Jordi won't be doing. Raines is so bad in this regard I seriously question whether he'll be at the club in the long term. Big call after his great 2006, but he was a huge disappointment this year.

Back to McMahon, I suspect he was made something of a scapegoat this year because he seemed to epitomise the sort of player they had a glut of - skilful but lightweight - at the expense of heavier body types.

As for Schulz, he's never gonna make it at the Tigers. If he goes on to do a Rodan at the Power, good luck to him.

McMahon for Schulz... :thumbsu:
