BRISBANE'S coup in re-signing several big names, including Luke Power, served to revive Leigh Matthews' bitter memories of those who defected to Victoria.
Referring to Collingwood midfielder Shane O'Bree, who quit Brisbane at the end of the 1999 season, and Steven Lawrence and Brett Voss, who signed with St Kilda, Matthews labelled the trio ''traitors'' for abandoning the Lions.
''We've had a few traitors over the past few years. I'll use that term. They walked out on us,'' Matthews said.
''If you walk out you're a traitor. But that's footy and certainly the guys here at the moment are hanging on and staying in.''
