Trent Sporn's Development

Do you think the Blues got it right blooding Trent Sporn this year instead of last year. His skill level is superb and his football smarts are impressive. We cop a lot of criticism for not giving our youth a run early enough but do you think Trent would have been as good last season or has the year's development done him the world of good?

I'm happy he didn't play last year. If he was a Chris Judd or a James Bartel type (ie. very physically developed) then I would have played him first year. In reality he is a skinny kid and still is a bit so no problem in playing him in the twos all last year. Tthe great Hawk sides of the 70s and 80s used to make sure their players played a lot of reserves footy before they made the step up to senior level.
