RIP Broady

was a tragic loss of life, one of many lost that day...

would be great to see him roaming the backline right now with the likes of Chip and Rivers plus our other injured defenders...

I've never been one to get emotional about things like this happening to slightly famous or properly famous people, for some reason it never rang true for me. When this happened to one of ours, though, I really, properly felt awful. Made sure I was at the Essendon game, utterly spine-tingling stuff at that one. RIP.

That was unreal to see the game (remember that one) - also remember the previous Dons game when he stitched up James Hird.

He was maligned early on, but really turned a corner in the team in his last year (reminds me of Colin Garland - another long defender).

what he did on that boxing day back in 2004 was heroic. He saved his wife and cost himself his own life. a true legend.

Will never forget Essendon & Melbourne walking out on the ground as one. Anyone got footage?
Yeah me too. A truly poignant and inspiring moment of solidarity. I'd love to see us win a premiership and dedicate it to him in his honour one day.

RIP Broady.
