Wasn't expecting too much of him so to say I am pleasantly surprised is an understatement.

It's been noted a bit but it's great to have our recruiting and list management being envied by other clubs as opposed to the justified ridicule we've endured since I was a boy.

Nice to be talking about Lids, Cotch, Dusty, Evarn and Chappy and not Lounder, Banik, Tambling, Kingsley and Jordie McMahon.

Cool head under pressure. His kicking is still a bit suspect but seems to make the right decisions. Good get so far but I'll reserve judgement until at least half the season has gone by.

Very impressed with what he's shown, cool under pressure with little panic. Just seems to relax our defenders far more even this early. Happy with yet another very good pick up in the last few years.

I gotta be honest i knew sfa about chappy, he s much better than what i expected. Has hands like a steel trap and uses the pill with Surjan like precision, really thinking through best option...he s a crackin recruit
I don't believe we've ever had any interest in Surjan...

Very happy with chappy! He has a cool head, thinks through the best option, is safe, and directs others with clear instructions.

I can see why he was an integral member of a team that made the Grand Final.

His kicking is better than I expected too, but maybe that's because of port supporters talking him down. Looks composed, a good solid well-rounded key defender!

He always seems to have oodles of time, and never under any great deal of pressure. Perhaps our defensive structure are allowing this, whereas Port followers were used to seeing him have to scramble under pressure in the last few years, which would effect his disposal efficiency? Just thinking alound - the amount of time he always seems to have to think his way through things, and dispose cleanly, is something that has stood out to me, too!

Very happy to see other tiger fans are loving Troy's work so far (I'm watching him as my player over in the Tiger Sanctuary and he just seems to fit in well down back and help with the balance). Big test this week where he may get some time on Cloke if Rance is getting beaten (Rance held him well last year but Cloke is in decent form at the moment).

I think he moved onto Liam Jones later in the game (saw him marking him a bit after he had got his 4th goal and didn't kick another after that - though the dogs forwards were starved of the ball quite a bit due to our midfield domination).
